At very short notice and without a booking we were found a table and dining for 5 people in the very busy restaurant so allowing us to have an evening meal and get to a show at the local theatre. Top marks. Having been prompted to reserve a table for breakfast on Sunday morning we turned up at our reservation time only to be told that there were no tables available. "Had a lovely Mothers day meal but unfortunately we were placed by the side entrance and people were constantly opening the door . It was absolutely freezing in there , poor Mother is 90 and it was way too cold for her . The roast meal however was faultless lovely and tasty and piping hot . Hotel Room could do with updating but it was very spacious and exceptionally clean . "

"Very welcoming staff so that was a great first impression. Very well presented accommodation. Great shower. Plenty of beverages and having a sofa too in the evening was a bonus. Enjoyed some good food in the pub along with a very drinkable bottle of red. Great atmosphere. Bed was very comfortable. It is only self serve continental breakfast of cereal, yoghurt and toast. "Crickhowell is stunningly beautiful. We stayed here due to its proximity to Hay-on-Wye, but will be back purely for Crickhowell. The Dragon was wonderful, especially the comfy beds and breakfast.
