With contemporary decor, the large open-plan layout is flooded with natural light, providing direct access to your own garden space and seating area where you can enjoy the summer evenings with views out to the hills. Or why not light the log-burner and cosy up, perfect for recharging your batteries. Natural oak floors and extensive glazed oak frames provide a very modern, yet traditional ambience. The ground floor provides an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, as well as a downstairs cloakroom. The fully equipped kitchen has a washer/ dryer, dishwasher, cooker, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave. A large flat-screen TV is provided, with surround sound, Sky TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and free WIFI, so you can enjoy your home comforts if wished. Included on the ground floor is a gym area with multi-gym and treadmill for those with energy to spare. The first floor provides a sizeable open plan bedroom with vaulted ceilings and far-reaching views out to the Brecon Beacons including Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. Whether you are looking for a relaxing, quiet retreat or an active adventure in and around the stunning National Parks, Ty Hobi Bach is the perfect spot. The property is at the foot of the Black Mountains in the national park, with paths on your doorstep leading to nearby Twmpa, Hay Bluff and the famous Dragons Back circular. We are within a short drive of the famous book town of Hay on Wye (5 min), Brecon and Pen y Fan (15-20 min), Builth Wells, Crickhowell or Talybont (20 min) and the Elan Valley, Rhayader dams (35 min) . Both the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Parks offer fabulous walks, plus the beautiful Wye Valley is also within reach. As well as wonderful hikes, the area offers many other outdoor activities, some within only a mile of the property. For example kayaking, gorge walking, climbing and clay pigeon shooting to name a few. Cycling both on and off-road is popular and we are located on the National Cycle Route number 8. Llangorse Lake is a 6 mile drive away and offers some peaceful water activities, plus you will find a fabulous indoor climbing centre offering climbing walls, bouldering and zip wire experiences. There are a number of horse-riding centres close by, offering fantastic treks up onto the hills for all abilities to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are a number of café’s, restaurants and pubs in the vicinity when refreshments are needed!
Ty Hobi Bach is also a fantastic base for a number of annual events in the area, such as Hay Book Festival, the Royal Welsh Show, the Green Man festival, the Walking Festivals at Talgarth, Hay-on-Wye and Crickhowell, plus the Food Festivals of Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye. Further afield we have the capital city of Cardiff which is a scenic 1hr 20min drive away and even the beautiful coastlines of Pembrokeshire, the Gower Peninsula and Cardiganshire - each around a 1hr 40min drive - mean a day at the beach is a possibility….although the riverside at Glasbury-on Wye provides a local option which is just as relaxing!
