The local village is very quiet and the nearest town has a great bakery and a few supermarkets. "We stayed for 9 days to relax, visit Paris and boulder in Fontainebleau forest. Gîte du Val D’auneau was the perfect base. Incredibly spacious, private and well appointed, we didn’t want for anything. Excellent pool area kept the kids happy for hours a the lovely covered outdoor dining area was a wonderful place to eat. Andréa and Philippe were the perfect hosts, they answered a questions promptly but allowed our privacy. Very highly recommended "

"Wow! Our group loved Helene’s place. The town is 1 hour train from Paris and you can get a taxi to the house although don’t rely on Uber/bolt. The pool area is wonderful and the grounds of the house have a lot to offer. The bedrooms are large and quite a lot of them have ensuites. The second house is attached to the main house and offers a quieter space for those that want it. The only issue our group found was some struggled to sleep because the house only has windows to cool down at night...

"Lovely house, very comfortable and well equipped for a family for two weeks near to climbing areas. Fireplace with a good supply of firewood very welcome for chilly spring evenings. Very helpful and friendly host, tolerant of my limited french language skills! We would recommend and definitely stay again."

"Wow!! The pictures do not do this house justice…it is a truly beautiful house.. We were a group of friends and family..6 adults and 6 children/teens.. We all fell in love with the house. The house is situated on the river, 5 mins walk to town. We were lucky to arrive during a festival and celebrated one of our groups birthday whilst we were there..the town were having a party and we danced till late..a weekend we will never forget..the only downside was we only stayed 2 nights..we all left...
