"Wow! Whalesback Cottage was the Nova Scotia oceanside escape that we were looking for. Our own private space – no traffic … no crowds … and the only sounds were the waves hitting the rocks. We spent countless pleasant hours watching the tides change the view … scanned the ocean with binoculars looking for the whales folks see occasionally. "Our group of four just stayed for a week in August and had an incredible time at this property! We found everything to be true to the listing if not better, and the stunning views from multiple directions made our stay even more memorable. We were able to explore a great deal of the surrounding areas thanks to the central location, with short hops to nearby Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Peggy's Cove, Chester, and of course Halifax and other great destinations. Highly recommended!"

"Met by the very attentive owner who is very polite. Answered texts very quickly, and checked in to make sure everything was okay and to see if I needed anything. Place was clean, bed is very comfortable, and amenities are close by with a car. Easy access to major highway close by."

"The property was beautiful, clean and in the perfrct location for being able to walk anywhere in downtown. Close to a park for kids and lots of choice of restaurants too. So much history in the building was an extra bonus!"

"The house was found as described in the listing, modern, in very good condition, and located in a quiet family neighborhood only a 15 minute drive from downtown Halifax. We (party of 6 adults) found the house properly cleaned and outfitted, and nicely warmed, upon our arrival. The check-in instructions (essentially the keycodes for the front door and garage door) were provided 2 days in advance of our arrival, and we had no problem accessing the house.
