We arrived and were quite surprised we were actually staying in a sub-basement space. (Don't know what balcony they're talking about?) However, there was still plenty of light from the numerous windows and the apartment was beautiful. Super clean (which is extremely important to us) and beautifully appointed.
We're from the other side of the country so when people upstairs started being active at 6:00 am it was 3:00 for us. We could clearly hear them, but fortunately they were pretty considerate when we were there, mornings and nights.
We wanted to cook several meals, and were a little disappointed with the lack of available kitchen items. We could tell, however, with all of the empty drawers, etc. that this was probably a work in progress and we just dealt with what we had. A few small inexpensive additions (a full-size cutting board, some serving bowls, etc) would be helpful. Also a dishtowel or two instead of using paper towels for everything.
The description read +when we booked+that it is a mile or so from things in the city. That was not our experience, and when we didn't want to do a 45 minute transit commute we had to take Lyfts. Just a heads-up.
All in all, a beautiful space. Just be aware of the location and upstairs neighbors. Thanks, John, for answering the phone when I called! (Host is very responsive).
