This rental is the 1st floor of a house. Located on a residential street, just across the bridge from downtown Salem and the train station. Downtown Salem is a short 10 minute walk away and the distance removes you from the hordes flocking to Salem for the Halloween festivities. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and a supermarket nearby which did not seem to be inundated the way the rest of the city is during October.
The living room was a nice size and was very comfortable. The bedrooms and kitchen were very small. The main bedroom really only had room for the bed itself. This rental would be ideal for a single person. Maybe a single person with one child who could sleep in the bunk bed room. For two adults and a teenager, we were a bit on top of each other at times.
There was a family living above our unit (the owner?) who we could hear walking around. They weren't excessively loud at all but at times the sound was a little disruptive. It is a small, old house, probably built in the late 1800/early 1900s if I had to guess.
But the rental was well stocked and the owner proactively took care of the parking permit for us before we arrived. They were also very responsive for any questions we had.
