A group of us were in Boston for a close friend's funeral. The day before the trip we didn't receive check in instructions and had to message the host. When we arrived at the location, we found no parking on the street anywhere near the house. (The listing states parking "on site"). There was, however, a single motorcycle parked in the driveway. When we contacted the host about options for parking, there was no response. This would have been less of an issue if the neighborhood was safe, but it is NOT. We arrived to people outside playing loud music from their cars and witnessed a physical altercation in front of the house. We didn't feel very safe walking far in this neighborhood. Upon check in, one of the rooms was locked and we had to go through all of the door codes to figure out how to unlock it. We also found exposed heating elements in the bathroom, one of the mirrors was broken, and the railing for the balcony was broken and wobbly. To top everything off, we were surprised to find a turkey in the backyard. Yes, a real turkey. Had this been thanksgiving, we might have been a little happier to see it, but it was, in fact, August. Given the short notice for booking the trip, we didn't have time to do much research into the location. Regardless, we would have felt more safe with parking and maybe 1 less wild animal in the back yard. We paid for 2 nights and left soon after check in to stay in a hotel. The host refused a refund and VRBO did nothing. Avoid this place.
