The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. "The Old Lock Up was clean,warm, and welcoming. I stayed for 3 nights in the Solicitor's room, which I found pleasant and characterful, with a comfortable bed and a good sized ensuite. It was very quiet with really thick walls. The breakfast was great and beautifully cooked. The property is well situated a short walk from the centre of Wirksworth. I managed it easily even with a sprained ankle. I had a very pleasant stay."

"This large and very well presented B&B property is ideally situated to visit nearby Hardwick Hall and is just off the motorway. In a safe, rural location, it is purpose built and has plenty of safe easy parking. Our room was spacious well appointed, albeit somewhat functional and lacking decorative touches. The walls are very thin, so our loud neighbour kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate."
