Convenient hotel for Bordeaux Centre
Hotel is convenient for Bordeaux Centre and there is a supermarket and shopping mall close by. Entry is confusing as the main entrance is from the upper level. The only way we could get to the upper entrance was through the adjacent park which isn't obvious. The ground floor entrance is normally locked and access is either via the speakerphone, door key card or previously advised PIN number. Not very welcoming. The rooms are OK and adequately provided with eseentials. No air conditioning so they are hot in summer.

Sleeping in a sauna
I arrived late at night and waited in the street until some hotel guests came in and opened the door for me. Apparently the front desk closes at 10pm and there is not way to enter the building without a key after that time. So I stood, alone, on a dark side street at 11pm hoping someone would show up.... Not a good start. The night guard gave me a key, the room had been closed up all day and someone - probably housekeeping - left the bathroom heat on, it was unbearable. After opening the balcony door it could down a bit but was still very uncomfortable - probably the worst hotel night I ever had. In the morning when I shared this with the front desk agent he only shrugged.... My room was paid for, I a staying one night why would he care it was impossible to sleep.... STAY AWAY

Good value but too hot
Hotel very close to main attractions and nearby tram stop plus shopping centre and supermarket. Rooms basic but effective. Only downside no aircon so hot and noisy at night with window or door open. Fan provided when you check in, on request! Hotel in need or a refurb as looking tired. Staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again but not in hot weather.

Convenient location, well-equipped suite
Location is excellent, very close to light rail station and only 4 stops from the centre of the old town and riverfront. Also there is a shopping centre across the plaza. The breakfast was good value for the surcharge given the convenience of not having to leave the hotel. The on-site parking is not designed for big cars but we were able to squeeze in with our large sedan. The kitchen in the suite was tiny but well-equipped, even had a mini dishwasher! The sofa was threadbare although the pull-out bed was very comfortable to sleep on and easy to set up. Not much extra space in the living room once the bed was set up though - we had to climb over the bed to reach the closet or balcony.

Very comfortable
It was very simple and located right beside a shopping centre but it was very very noisy(thin walls). Would be nice if the room had a safe!

stinks, broken elevator, belittling service
the location of the citadines is convenient. it is close to restaurants and points of interest in the city, but there are other hotels in the same area that would be a better choice. Also, attached to a park that had young adults drinking and making a raucous in the early evening, had to think about walking through, first time in Bordeaux i questioned my safety. The room, and whole hotel, reeked of cigarette smoke. I booked a double bed and had two singles pushed together, but made up separately so couldn't sleep on the crack if you wanted to. The front desk attendant broke out laughing when i approached the desk, all signs indicated she was laughing at me, quite unprofessional and unnerving. There was a lot of sound transfer between rooms so not a quiet sleep. The bathroom was clean enough but there was grime around the toilet, and on the baseboards, and the carpets were filthy in the room. Worst of all was the reek of smokes in the fabric of the room, even with extensive airing it would not diminish. It served a purpose for one night in bordeaux but i would never go back.

The room was OK, even if it had some minor stains here and there. As it is an apartment hotel, no one comes to clean it when you stay just for a few days. Otherwise, it is a nice place. Supermarket and tram stops are very near.

Overall, a very good place to stay in BDX
not a brand new hotel, therefore furniture and deco are a bit outdated but still in good condition. balcony was nice but hasn't been clean for ages....:( Also, one of the two lifts was out of order for all our time in the place. have to wait a long time to get upstairs beds are absolutely fabulous, really :)

Very Handy for Stadium
The Citadines is fine. You have everything you need for a short stay and it is cheap. The room was more comfortable than I expected, but the cleaning service was a bit haphazard. My room was not made-up while I was there and that was a two-night stay. I was there for a specific rugby match and for that it ticked all the boxes. Close to pub/restauarant where everything was based and right on the tramline for Stade Chaban Delmas.

Good hotel...small rooms...but very bad service
The hotel rooms r tiny...we had a 2 person studio and once the sofa was pulled out thr was barely any space to move around... The beds was clean and comfortable and so was the bathroom...the hotel has paid overnight parking facility... thr is no AC in the rooms and all the hotel helps u with is to give u a little table fan... The 2 people at the reception were very rude...when we tried to get some information about getting around the city or renting a car or getting to Medoc or St. Emilion they did not provide any information...thr only response wud be tht we shud enquire at the tourist office... also when we asked for an extra bed it wasn't put in our room and because the guys at the reception are not available 24 hrs a day when we got back late into the nite thr was no way we cud get a bed then...

Elevator issues...not once but twice
At your own risk should be the advertise heading on the outside of this hotel. Not once but twice did we witness clients stuck in the elevator for more then 45 to 75 minutes. One of the issue where 2 seniors were stuck in the elevatore for more then 1 hour 15 min and this around midnight. Other then that...yes we took the stairs for the remainder of our stay. Rooms are somehow compfortable, no hand towel offered, you pay for what you get...beware....

Cramped
The studio apartments for 1 to 2 people are very poorly designed. The toilet is separated by a small kitchen. There is a large desk with 2 bulky desks that take up much of the little space that there is. The bathroom door only opens wide enough for you to enter because it is blocked by the couch. The carpet seems it hasn't been cleaned in quite a while so you may want to wear sandals around. The couch is very dirty and the blanket provided was also dirty with cigarette burns in it. The reception ladies are extremely friendly and helpful. It is a great location...walking distance to a market and the main city center.

Horrible
The area is seedy. The hotel staff was sour. The homeless sleeping around the hotel were sad. There was no air conditioning. In a city where the temperatures got into the high 80'sF, the room became stifling. If you open the windows, you hear all the city sounds including the emergency vehicles from the station nearby.
