My fiancé and I stayed in the “Dennis” room and got eaten up by bedbugs, so naturally we had a horrible experience. The bed was infested and it was disgusting. When we first informed the staff, they offered to spray down the bed. I requested a different room as I’m fully aware of what it takes to get rid of bedbugs.
We spent most of our day washing ALL of our clothes, ironing them (to hopefully get rid of any potential eggs left behind), wiping down all our belongings and luggage. I would’ve rather been relaxing on the beach.
We were moved to the room below and at night there were tons of flying insects in the room. When I informed the staff, he offered to use spray to kill the insects. The owner explained that these flying insects tend to come out when it rains. But the real concern is, why are they in the room?! As you can imagine, I barely had any sleep while staying here.
I will say that the owner and staff are really nice. The owner offered a partial refund for one night and agreed to have the room treated as I made it very clear that I wouldn’t want anyone else to have this horrible experience. I also feel like there needs to be more effort in the upkeep and cleanliness of their facilities (ie: getting rid of those moldy Louie Vuitton cushions in the room).
