I was pleasantly surprised with Jony's Boutique Hotel. Having procrastinated on booking rooms for May 1 weekend, my usual choices were either fully booked or expensive. Booking a new, relatively unknown boutique hotel was risky considering I had not stayed in any of their properties before. However we were very happy to see it was new with amenities comparable to that of Two Seasons, Sur & White House. But what made the stay most memorable was the consistently friendly, knowledgeable & attentive service from their well trained staff.
Rooms are modern with a full sized bed, clean linens & basic amenities provided. Perhaps because the pillows were still new, these had a tendency to be too firm than what I'm used to but that's a matter of choice & not a shortcoming on their end. The bathroom was spacious, had good water pressure for the hot & cold shower provided plus drainage was excellent -- usually a problem for Boracay hotels.
We had breakfast at Pig Out & each dish we tried was delicious. My favorites were the Dried Beef Tapa & Fried Adobo. Skip the coffee if you can't take a very potent brew.
I definitely recommend this to those who don't want to break the bank when booking a place in Boracay. While it's not beach front property, you have access to the beach as a registered guest, plus 10% discount at Maya for drinks and dining during your stay.
