Comfortable, but some issues
The beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen was great. The house needs a different entry system (the 10 digit push pad took several times to work); kitchen was great, as were the bathrooms (except no hot shower in upstairs bath); beds very comfortable. The stairway is a little dicey upstairs.

great stay in maine
This was a great house to spend a family vacation week in Maine. Its newly renovated house had plenty of room. The location was great, within walking distance to Boothbay Harbour.

Family Reunion
Beautiful house in a great location. Walking distance to town and the water. House was very clean and the kitchen came with everything we needed to prepare our meals. The only things to note is that there were only air conditioning window units in 2 out of the 5 bedrooms and none in the downstairs living room area. There was a small yard, but the neighbors have “No Trespassing” signs posted all along their property line, so we did not feel comfortable going on the lawn whatsoever. I would definitely stay here again.

As advertised - great location!
This house was easy walking distance to town, with convenient parking out front. The beds were comfortable although 2 baths for 5 BR might be a challenge if you have a lot of people. The back deck was lovely! There is no central AC. Looked just like the pictures!

BBH Visit
Great location, clean house. However, limited kitchen equipment, dishes, coffee cups, etc. for a house that sleeps 10. Also, only an apartment-sized refrigerator, no ice maker, two-burner grill. Makes it difficult to cook meals in the house for more than 3-4.

Great place to stay!
We rented this for a long weekend for Bowdoin graduation. I wanted something to bring a great northeast/New England experience for my family who’ve never been to Maine. The house has been beautifully updated, rooms were very comfortable and an awesome location - easily walkable to/from town even if a little hilly. Only feedback for improvement would be to have more mirrors in bedrooms so people can get ready outside of the bathroom- it was challenging on the days we all had to get out the door at the same time (8 people). Also of note- the house is old, so electrical outlets are limited (in a few bedrooms)- had to buy an extension cord for a c pap machine. Lastly, looks like the driveway was expanded so we fit 3 cars easily (even though I bought an extra parking spot in town as the listing says only 2 spots). I highly recommend this great house!

Pleasant House for Our Family Vacation
The house is within an easy walk to town in a quiet neighborhood. It is attractively decorated with nice quality linens and comfortable seating . The fact that we could all come and go without worrying about let’s was a nice plus. There was plenty of space for our party of 7 adults and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck for meals. We decided to cook most of our meals and found the kitchen decently equipped. (One note: the coffee maker is tiny so if you have a lot of coffee drinkers be warned!) The Boothbay Region is a great place for a family get together—wonderful hikes, the botanic garden, nice shops all close by.

Not happy with the home
The heater was turned off when we arrived. There was no central heat or AC on the second floor. We didn't enjoy our stay and wouldn't return or recommend it.

Mid September Weekend Away
Our extended family stayed here together in mid September to have a weekend away and enjoy one of the best little slices of Maine. The location was perfect and accommodations were great. We have enough room for everyone to sleep, eat and hang out. The backyard has a huge rock that the kids spent most of their time playing on pretending it was a piece of the moon. Kitchen was pretty well equipped, could use a few more pans for when you have to cook for 10 people. The biggest concern we had while we were here was the stairs- they are beautiful and full of character but felt a little dangerous for our young ones (2-4 yrs old) to be going up and down. All of the bedrooms except one is on the second floor. I still highly recommend this place to anyone, just if you have little ones- heads up there’s a lot of stairs!

We had a good time
I booked this house for Mother's day weekend. My family and I had a good time and there was plenty of space for the kids and adults to spread out. It is a very old house, and it shows. The floors and doors are creaky, and the heat only worked downstairs. There were space heaters upstairs at least. We didn't get to spend much time on the patio, but that was partly due to the neighbor. My stepdad had an incident where he didn't notice their "private property" signs and mistakenly left a chair on their side. Instead of talking to him, the neighbor waited until he went inside and slammed the chair against the stairs. Then the kids tried to play outside but the neighbor's dog kept barking incessantly and it wasn't pleasant. We had some cleanliness issues but Vacasa was very responsive to us and even offered to have someone come out the next morning to rectify the issues. Overall, we had a good stay.

Wonderful location!
I was hosting a group of family and friends who were coming and going, and the location in Boothbay Harbor was perfect, so that folks could be independent (coffee here, drinks there, lobster roll plus ONLY at Dunton’s, so perfect and close by!). The oven smoked too much to be useable (even on preheat and after communicating with Vacasa and our trying multiple oven cleaning sprays). There was a broken bed support for the bed on the main floor (communicated to Vacasa, but no reply) and black mold in the upstairs shower (should be easy to fix!). Otherwise, a great property - although I would note that there’s is an odd and treacherous drop down step for the upstairs - I just left a bag there, so no one would step down 3 steps instead of going on the other side of the top stairs, where it was easier! But spacious, clean, and well located!

Wonderful spot centrally located
The cottage is lovely. Really well kept, spacious and centrally located to walk to everything you need. The bedrooms are perfectly appointed, and beds were really comfortable. We spent tons of time in the large open kitchen. The place has modern amenities while keeping the historic charm of the house and the neighborhood. The area has excellent shops and restaurants. The cottage is also well situated for short road trips to Southport Island and Ocean point in East Boothbay for incredible open ocean views. The only quirk we encountered was parking. Since there are so many bedrooms, there were several adults staying at the cottage from different parts of New England. The two car limit created a pretty decent situation for us to solve. The VRBO team had no option, and suggested calling the chamber of commerce. They didn't have off-season overnight parking. They suggested calling the gas station a few blocks away, which we did, and they had spots for us to rent , but it was their last weekend of the season, so that's something to note. That was sorted out, and we had a fantastic Fall weekend in a gorgeous, spacious cottage in beautiful Boothbay Harbor!

Great for large groups on a budget
We absolutely loved our time in Boothbay but won’t stay here again unless we come with a large group (10 people) and have a tight budget. Only two rooms in the entire house have window AC units and some of the kitchen items (particularly the rice cooker) were very dirty upon our arrival. The home is beautifully decorated but is still an old home - the two bathrooms are small, the downstairs living space is tight, and several of the old doors are difficult or impossible to close. There’s a slight old musty odor to the home that seems to come from the downstairs basement and there’s an awkwardly large column in the middle of the kitchen. As others have mentioned, the home is a convenient 8 minute walk into town but the return trip is a climb up a steep hill. Luckily, parking is pretty easy to come by downtown so driving into town is an option if needed. Overall, a nicely decorated stay that has lots of potential with a few more updates and attention-to-retail upkeep.

Mixed review for early October weekend.
Nice clean house. Good location, easy walk to town. beautiful harbor front village. There is no heat (at all) on the second floor, and no extra blankets. Very cold the first night. Exchanged many phone calls and texts with management trying to have extra blankets delivered. Frustrating because they insisted there was heat on the second floor and there were extra blankets. They wanted to send a plumber to check the heat. Finally, they had extra blankets delivered and all was great after that. Other than that, the coffee pot is small and makes only two cups. The “sharp” kitchen knives are too dull to cut anything. The regular cutlery knives were fine. And the propane tank for the gas grill on the deck was empty. All that aside, we had a wonderful time.

This was a clean property with one bedroom and a full bathroom downstairs. We were a party of seven
We had a two-night stay. And since we were so close to the harbor, it made for easy walks to the points of interest nearby; easy walk to the harbor. We could see the harbor from out the windows. We cooked on the newer clean grill. You need to sign into your own Roku account to use the TV which we did to see the Olympics.

Great location for a family trip
This is a great property in a great location for taking advantage of all of the things there are to do around Booth Bay. Close enough for a quick walk to town for a coffee in the morning and within a 10 minute drive of any of the other things we wanted to do in the area! The house is clean and a good size. Not much outdoor space for the kids to play, it did look in the listing as if it had more of a yard, but we didn’t spend a lot of time hanging around the house to need it anyway.

Great for multigenerational crowd
This property was spacious and super clean. The management was very helpful when we needed something. Just make sure you read details on the Vacasa site about pets in case anyone has allergies since pet dander is microscopic so no amount of cleaning can get rid of allergens. That was my oversight and most won't have any issue.
