Enjoy the stay
Even though the weather didn’t allow us to enjoy outdoors, we had a great time in this small cabin which was perfect for a family of 3. Beautifully decorated with all the facilities needed for a vacation. Thanks for letting us stay.

Peaceful Getaway
This home was very cozy and the kitchen was well equipped. Very clean and conveniently located close to BRP. The view was nice and the deck had comfortable chairs to sit. The owners left birdseed for us to fill bird feeders and we absolutely loved seeing all the birds that came. I would definitely recommend this property.

A nice quiet cabin
My family and I enjoyed our stay here overall. We had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen has all the necessities. The kids' mattresses could probably use an update.Everything else was great!

Charming and convenient!
This mountain cabin provided the perfect getaway experience for myself, my husband and our two-year-old during App State homecoming weekend. It's far enough out of town that you feel like you're really "in the mountains" but less than 15 minutes to Boone or Blowing Rock. Also loved the convenience to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Highlights were the big windows throughout, the large deck, and the tree swing. Kitchen and bathroom were really nice. The gravel road to the cabin is a little rough so we were glad we brought our SUV. We had a great experience here and would love to stay again.

Great spot!
Communication was excellent, location was great for our 3 day trip to Tweetsie, Docs Gem Mine, Mast General Store, and Grandfather Mountain. The cabin was quaint and cozy with a pretty deck and view which we really enjoyed in the evenings. We brought our small air purifier to help with humidity and allergies which worked great. Well stocked with amenities, kitchen supplies, ect. We didn't use the downstairs but it was nice and cool. AC was a plus in July. The kids loved the bunk beds and tree swing. Overall, it was a great stay.

The cabin was very nice, clean and accomodated us nicely. The cabin was perfect for 4 people.
The only negative thing we need to say is the railing on the deck was not very stable. We live in Eastern NC where there are a lot of high decks and some have collapsed this year so it make us a little nervous to be on the deck near the railing. Other than that, everything was great!

Nice cabin but my back is still recovering from the bed
I loved the patio and view, but my relaxing weekend turned into a sleepless weekend due to the terrible matress. I have never woken up in such pain before... tossed and turned to get comfortable only to wake up in agony. Ive slept on futons, air mattresses and 15 yr old junkers this yr with no problems, so i was defintely suprised and frustrated. Cabin was clean and cute, close to blowing rock and boone. Just wish i could say i had some R&R :(

BEST WINTER VACATION!
Family of 4 (2 small boys) stayed here from 12/27 to 1/1. Let me tell you this trip was amazing to us. The cabin was awesome! Patricia was very helpful from before the trip to even after. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to have a home cooked meal. We had ALOT of family time since the weather wasn't that good for the first 2 days. We really needed that! The boys loved "their" room hahaha. Had board games, colors, movies, ect. ooohhh cant forget the ping pong table we all loved that! We had so much fun! The location is close to everything. The cabin overall has everything you want in a vacation to feel calm and enjoy. The boys loved the swings outside and we went on the trail we found behind the house. We will for the future rent here again! Thank you for everything Patricia and Dacian!

Nice view
We liked the cabin, it was really cold when we were there so we could not use the 2nd bathroom downstairs because it was not heated down there so we were really cramped in one bathroom, the cabin had a lot of dust and it was not very clean, my son has an allergy and everytime we got to the cabin he was sneezing really bad, the view is beautiful in the morning, the gravel road was very scary to get in and out but we kind of get used to it after the 1st day, it snowed really hard when we were there so the kids had a good time with the sleds, the neighbourhood is very quite and safe, the kitchen is well stocked. The owners were responsive and helpful, we did not have any signal on my phone in the cabin so it was a little scary not to be able to call anyone but we were able to text message.

Beautiful cabin in the mountains
Great little cabin in the mountains. I gave a 5 star rating for accuracy of listing, but only because I feel like the owner has understated how great this place is. My kids loved the kids room and board games. The elevation on the mountain was high enough that it snowed the whole weekend even though there was only a slight chance in town. The views were beautiful and bird watching on the porch was nice. They provide bird food. Definitely read the specific instructions to find the cabin. In the dark it was hard to see the first rd to the right by the fence. gps takes you up the hill to a different one. Make sure you have an AWD vehicle for winter months. Temps dropped fast and it can get slippery Be careful if you are going down stair to the basement at all. They are carpeted stairs and a few steps need to be tacked down. My husband slipped a few times but caught himself before falling. I was not as lucky and fell on my butt when going down to do laundry. Overall this was a quaint little cabin. The kitchen was great for cooking and had everything you would need make awesome meals in. The local attractions were very close by. All under 30 mins. We will definitely be back and stay here again

Super location, Average VRBO
Hi Patricia, Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your VRBO. The location was perfect for us as it was near to the many golf courses we wanted to play. The house itself was large enough for the two of us but had some challenges that really need to be addressed. First and foremost, the master bedroom bed MUST be changed as it is so very uncomfortable. A normal mattress and box spring would be advisable so a decent night's rest could take place. In addition, the futon sofa should have been repaired before our arrival. It could not be used to even sit on. We were also challenged with your lack of needed electrical power to run some of the appliances, such as the washer & dryer. We had power outage in the basement. The interior of the home was clean and that was important to us. Thank you once again for sharing your mountain retreat.

Wonderful house for Blue Ridge Mountains visit
We are so glad this property was available for our mini-vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains to celebrate the end of the school year. The kids loved the room all for them and the swings - the biggest problem of the vacation was that there were only two swings and three children! We spent one day hanging around the cabin relaxing (amazing view from deck, good movie selection, and interesting goats down the street for the 2-year old) and the remaining time on the Blue Ridge Parkway hiking and picnicking. Great place for a family vacation, although it would also be good for an affordable honeymoon or anniversary vacation as the cabin was very private. The cabin was clean (even under the couches and beds) and the kitchen was fully stocked. Grocery stores (including an EarthFare) and other amenities were within a 15-minute drive. It was a little tricky to pull into the driveway due to the terrain, but that added to the mountain charm. Another review mentioned a concern about the railing of the deck - we did find it to be just a tad wiggly, but we did not have any concerns about the safety of our children. The owners were very responsive and helpful. We hope to return soon and would certainly recommend this property to others!

Wonderful Thanksgiving in the Mountains
We enjoyed our stay in Carpathian Cabin over the week of Thanksgiving. The location is wonderful and includes great views for an early morning coffee on the porch as well as tons of roads/trails for an easy walk around in the woods. Lots of wildlife around including beautiful blue jays, doves, red birds, deer and a very friendly cat or dog here and there. The home is well equipped and our children had board games to play with as well as a very kid friendly room. There were movies that were appropriate for all family members and tons of blankets to keep cozy. The kitchen has everything you need to have meals in. There is a tire swing and regular swing out front, a ping pong table in the basement - lots of in home entertainment! The owners were VERY responsive when we contacted them. We drove in at night and were a bit turned around as there are a few roads in a group once you turn from the main road. Also - the road to the cabin is not for the faint of heart - a fence along the side is the only thing separating you and the side of the hill! But that's to be expected when you have a location like this. I would recommend this cabin and certainly plan on returning one day!

Disappointed
After looking forward to our time away we were disappointed from the time we drove our car down a very narrow, rutted road with no way out but down the side of the mountain. Thankfully no other car was coming up the other way. We walked in the house and immediately smelled a very musty odor. We went down stairs to check it out and the smell there was heavy. There was a dehumidifier there which was not working so we emptied out the container and it went on. It was full within hours and it went out again. The down stairs was more like a converted cellar, not really a downstairs. But because the smell was ,making us sick, we did not go down for the rest of the stay. There was another dehumidifier upstairs, which we had on most of the time. These dehumidifiers did not take care of the musty problem. When it got so hot that we had to use the unit as the air conditioner setting. We had to turn that off because we then couldn’t hear the television as it was right next to it. There was only one towel per person and just one spare in the closet for a three day stay, the bed was uncomfortable, the shower was hard to regulate the hot and cold water and there was no vent fan. There was no roof on the deck so if it was rainy you couldn’t sit out side and after the rain the furniture was wet. The picture that shows on the internet looks like a door to the patio but it’s a window. The driveway was was very hard to maneuver for a mid size suv. In general many issues that added up to an unpleasant stay, which we had to cut short because the dampness bothered us too much. It was not worth what we paid for it.

August stay
Overall the cabin was clean, comfortable, was well stocked with anything needed, and nice view. Getting a quick response on having a charcoal grill, not gas, allowed purchase of coal and starter before coming into the cabin. We did have some difficulty with water pressure, which made it difficult to flush the toilet at times. We also would have benefited from having instructions on using the TV with three different remotes. Instructions sent on getting into the cabin by road was also important. We managed the driveway ok, but there was quite a wash out of rocks between the cabin and the neighbors. Large cinderblocks in the road were pretty obtrusive to driving that part and turning around the curve. It was very peaceful and quiet. loved seeing the hummingbirds also.
