Exactly what we were looking for. A quiet location to get away. The hosts were awesome, made sure we had everything we needed. The house was more than we expected. It had such a homey feel. The kitchen had everything you need and more. Great deck with a great view. If ever in the area again will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay!!! The view is incredible, and we loved the peacefulness of everything! The inside is so cozy, inviting, and beautifully decorated, I wish I didn't have to leave.

This is where you can experience true “off the grid” vacationing. You are truly in authentic, beautiful, northern Idaho where the scenery is unbeatable and there is no one nearby for miles. The property is self sufficient. This is the answer for a rustic, restful, scenic stay off the beaten path. We will return again.
The hosts are fantastic. The cabin is unbelievably clean, well decorated and grounds are peaceful. I’d highly recommend anyone to stay and enjoy an amazing cabin that has such meticulous detail.
We loved our stay! Great host ,wonderful view, great getaway! The road in can be a challenge this time of year 4x4 or all wheel drive would be a plus! The pin for it is in bonnersferry but it is about 10 miles north witch makes the view all that much better! Jim is a fantastic host! Thanks again for a great place!
Our stay was great! This location was about 30 minutes from town, remote and very quiet. The lodge is absolutely beautiful and the host was more than accommodating. They had toys for our toddler, games and everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay.
Location had outstanding views, is off grid but all the amazing amenities that you would need. Owners have done a beautiful job, very clean and comfortable. Jim and Nita are very accommodating and really made our 30th anniversary extra special with all of the extras they did for us!
A comfortable, quiet, unique place to relax and enjoy the view. The host greeted us and showed us all the details of the place she checked on us through out our stay to see if we needed anything. The place is fully stocked with everything including snacks.
This is a great spot for a getaway or if you’re just passing through. You won’t find a view of the mountains like this one in Bonner’s Ferry. The owners were accommodating and friendly. Make sure to bring a car that can handle dirt roads!
This is one of the best Vrbo places we have ever stayed. Every thing was perfect. We would highly recommend it to anyone who passes through Bonner ferry ID. We will stay again when we pass through again for sure. Loved it. 😍
You won't find better hosts! Jim and Nita were incredibly thoughtful, sweet and practical. The cabin was a great space for my mother in law to have her own room, and my kiddos to have cozy sleeping spaces (hide-a-bed).
The road was well maintained gravel and a gorgeous drive!
The property was located on the side of a mountain and very quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed hearing all the sounds of nature. Able to see deer and wild turkeys close to the house. Places to hike were available. The property was very clean and beautifully designed. Property owners had great communication and made checkin/out very easy.

The owners provided EVERYTHING from soup, bottled water, laundry detergent. The cabin was so cute and efficient. Very comfortable. AND did I say CUTE? If you can count all the bears in the cabin...you could win $10.00 off your stay. We were close. Super CLEAN and quiet. It was my favorite place of our trip.
Cozy cabin off grid! Set up with everything you need to cook; pots, pans, spices, oils, crockpot and snacks. Super cozy and even with being off grid, you have all the amenities you need; especially with kids. You are out of town and off the beaten track. We were in a truck with 4x4 and made it with ease, but something to consider. Beautiful views and excellent hosts who are on site- helpful and there if you need, but you still have that private feel. Our kids loved "the cabin" and we would for sure re book when we are back in the area!
I can't express how wonderful our week was in Northern Idaho. It was such a beautiful place to experience and the memories of our time together are priceless. Jim and Nita were wonderful hosts that made sure we had what we needed but also respected our privacy. They have put so much heart and soul into their VRBO. It was tastefully decorated with a lodge feel and of course, Bears. Every detail was well thought out. The place was clean and was well stocked with everything that we needed. The beds, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable. They had fans in each bedroom and plenty of space for hanging/storing clothing, jackets, shoes etc.. The kitchen was well stocked and even included cans of soup, some snacks and water bottles in the fridge. The living space had board games, puzzles, Readers digest, a tv for streaming shows or movies and lots of extra throw blankets. The North deck had a grill, a fire pit, outdoor seating and AMAZING views. We were also very impressed with the quality of the construction, the furniture, the beds and the bedding and the decor. It's a bit of an adventurous drive up to their place but that only added to the experience. I hope we get the chance to Soar with the Eagles and Hibernate with the Bears again in the future. Jim and Nita - Thank you for your hospitality and for the parting gift. Your place really felt like a home away from home. Wishing you all the best 🙏
Stayed for a week long hunting trip had a great experience with family members would recommend it. loved the views from the balcony. Jaunita and her husband are friendly people and very welcoming great trip thanks
My family stayed here on the way to Canada. Jim and Juanita are the perfect hosts! Directions to the house were easy to follow, and Jim met us when we pulled in. He showed us around the space, and let us know there was some complimentary snacks and food. The beds were comfortable and everything is very clean. Definitely a more fun and enjoyable experience than staying at a hotel! Be sure to do the bear scavenger hunt game that Juanita put together and see if you can count all the bears!
We were only around for a quick overnight stop on our way from Spokane to Glacier, but this was a pleasant stop that we would totally do again when we have more time.
The hosts thought of so many little details to make us feel welcome in this beautiful, off-grid property. Comfortable beds and cozy surroundings in this quaint spot made for a nice stopover.
Stayed at the Sleepy Bear Lodge with my wife and daughter during a heat wave. Each day was over 100 degrees F and that pretty much put a damper on our outdoor plans to hike and horseback ride. BUT we enjoyed a very comfortable stay and essentially remained lazy (which is probably what we needed). We would highly recommend this lodge for those who are more in tune with a semi-wilderness vacation than being pampered in a luxery hotel somewhere. The view north from the deck is absolutely breathtaking. Spent many hours outside there in the cool of the evenings. Adding this to our top locations and memories we have experienced!
