Approximately 2900 square foot coastal home situated on the 13th Tee of world-class Bodega Links golf course in South Harbour. Sleeps up to 11 persons comfortably.

It's a 5-bedroom, 3-bath home in Bodega Harbor South with spectacular views, reverse floor plan so everyone can enjoy the great views from the common living areas.

Downstairs is a full size, professionally balanced Pool Table. A full sized Hot Tub with screened fence is located in the back patio. Propane grill on wrap-around deck outside kitchen.

Master suite with Cal King, 3 bedrooms with queens, 1 bedroom with 3 single beds.
An additional twin mattress and queen futon can be made available.

Family-friendly environment with plenty of space and ocean views for everybody to be comfortable and relaxed. This home is being offered for gatherings and celebrations of families and friends but is NOT intended for 'partying'. If this is your plan, please select another property.

Great family reunion
Grey Whale was a great space for our family reunion of nine adults. We loved having the pool table and the ping pong table. The kitchen was well equipped. The living room coffee table was large enough for us to work on jigsaw puzzles and we had views too! Don was very responsive and had great check-in instructions and house book.

Relaxing Vacay in Bodega Bay
Our stay was amazing. House is spacious with ample rooms and comfy beds. Lots of room to spread out or come together for meals and activities. Area is quiet and safe with lots to do at the beach or exploring the area.

Beautiful weekend in Bodega Bay
The home has many windows with great views and decks to enjoy. The kitchen views are great. There are a few minor maintenance issues that could be addressed to improve the kitchen. The home accommodated our group of 10 adults and one baby easily.

Nice big house with beautiful views. Pinnacle Gulch within walking distance. Doran beach close by and the Armstrong Redwood Forest was a 30 minute drive. We had a wonderful time.

Excellent property for a family stay!
My family of 10 and I had a wonderful weeks vacation in this beautifully located rental. Quiet cul de sac, great for the kids riding bikes. Close access to walking trails with beautiful views. Everyone enjoyed playing ping pong and pool! Kayaking is only a few minutes away, which was the highlight of our vacation. Our family would definitely come back to this property. The owner was very accessible to our needs.

Light-filled, spacious home in a lovely neighborhood
Our family loved our stay. The house is a short walk to a path to the beach, a short drive to another bigger beach for fishing and crabbing. The house itself was very clean, well-equipped, spacious, and offered views from the many windows and decks. We would love to return for a future visit.

Great stay!
Love the bright, open areas and huge kitchen! My favorite spot was the 2 lounger chairs and ottomans in front of the windows! The bedrooms and beds were comfortable. The downstairs felt a little damp (maybe benefit from damp-rid?) and the towels were rough to touch. Otherwise, we would stay again!

The location of the property was great. Very large house that was perfect for 7 adults. There were a few things that could warrant the attention of the owner. The hot tub needed attention and could use with a good cleaning. Overall, the property was good, but could do with an updating of the couches in the family room.

Family Trip
The house was great for a big group but it does need some care. The stove has burners that are either high flames or if you try to lower it, they go off and the sliding screens were all hard to move and would come off the tracks. I’m sure with large groups, everyone doesn’t treat other peoples property with care but someone should check these things especially the stove. We did enjoy our stay there and the kids loved the ping pong and pool.

The house was clean, well-appointed, and fun for all! We loved the hot tub, the ping pong table, the pool table - made for competitive games! The walk to the beach is a little longer than advertised, but beautiful. We didn't have use of the washing machine which was tough with kids, and no soap in the showers or tub - we bought some. Just one bath towel per person, with no washing machine, was a challenge. But all in all it was a wonderful stay, one which we can recommend highly!

Successful return trip
Our second stay at this house, this time with a couple more people. The five bedrooms easily handled our group of 8 people, and the Great Room is never crowded but still feels cozy. A lot of wind and rain while we were there but we stayed warm and comfy. The refrigerator is big - but a small nit is that you can't store anything in the door itself, as door shelf parts are missing - so can be a bit of an organizational challenge for any group that intends to stock the fridge for a lot of cooking. Hardly a fatal flaw - wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Learned my lesson
My family stayed at the Gray Whale for 5 days and 5 nights. The place was plenty big enough but very outdated. We had some trouble with the master bed and later was charged for things I didn’t agree on but still had to pay. I have stayed at many VBRO homes and never had a problem even with my large group. All I can say is take pictures of everything before hand ie under beds, under sheets etc. Document everything before hand 😢😢😢

Great house needs a little work.
Beautiful house and great location near beaches, but it needs some attention. When we stayed, the washing machine was broken, and the dryer (we hand washed some clothes) didn't seem to dry clothes very well. In addition, the stove burners needed to be manually lit, the lower dishwasher rack kept coming off its rails, and the microwave open/close button kept getting stuck. Also, one of the bathroom drains didn't drain very well and only one of the 8 lights in the garage was functioning making playing pool and pingpong dim experiences.

Everything we needed
Beautiful home. Very well stocked kitchen. Lots of room to spread out. Communication with owner was great. Clean. Slightly dated but that didn’t matter to us. The only minor problem was the BBQ was difficult to control, we couldn’t get low setting to work. It would work on high but when we tried to turn it to low it would shut off. Overall it was a great home and we really enjoyed our stay.
