We were seeking a quiet getaway for 2, and couldn’t have chosen a better location! The best of both worlds - providing ample opportunity to do as little or as much as you want! Beach combing to beach bumming.... Snorkeling, swimming, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, shell collecting, tennis - all right on-site! Or, floating in the pool, sunbathing on the wicker poolside loungers, relaxing on beach chairs in the shallows, waves cresting at the reef, swaying in a hammock on the shaded dock.... We witnessed more wildlife than people! Lizards & iguanas, sea birds (Frigate, Pelicans, Cranes little tropical birds. Let’s not forget the doves and wild chickens to serenade you!) Speaking of chickens, they do get loud, but luckily the hurricane-grade windows keep out the morning noise. We saw lots of marine life on-site, including sea turtles, stingrays, sea cucumbers, coral, small reef fish of various colors, conch, little crabs, and the most multi-colored hermit crabs along the dockside. There were also needle fish, tarpon, bonefish, barracuda, & yellowtail snapper for the fisher people. The cottage was well appointed, with gorgeous views. Beautiful, functional, and a great place to call home while on vacation. Wayne & Ziggy were incredibly helpful and personable when you sought to chat with them, but otherwise wildly unobtrusive. Besides being away from bustling crowds, we were also centrally located to many of the island’s other offerings, including amazing Oceanside restaurants. Our favorites include The Lighthouse (fab for eating in, or outstanding takeout pizza to enjoy at the cottage. They offer gluten free options for fellow gf travelers! And the sushi was beyond fresh & delicious!) We also enjoyed Tukka (especially if you want to feed the Frigate birds!) Over the Edge does fresh seafood right (I’m partial to the conch steak!), and Eagle Ray’s for lion fish tacos and other laidback fare. Rum Point is a nearby area to enjoy an excursion with the stingrays, or a visit to Starfish Point. Kaibo for occasional live music and sand in your toes during your meal. So many things to do, or not do, Rest & Relaxation, to romping with wildlife or Rocking & Rolling.... But particularly beneficial to just get away from it all. I’m sure we’re forgetting to include some of the awesomeness here, but you will just have to come see for yourself! (However, we call first dibs!) THANK YOU Laura & family for sharing this piece of paradise with us!
