Hotel with personality and very friendly staff
All staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Mrs. Thoma who also exuded happiness. The restaurant had a nice choice of meals at very acceptable prices and quality. The room was small but adequate if somewhat noisy from traffic outside. The hotel is located at the junction of two roads, one being quite busy. The nearness of several motorways makes it easy to access the rest of the Ruhr area. There was a very pleasant buffet breakfast. My main problem was the internet speed, which was sometimes very satisfactory but often enough frustratingly slow. IN our modern days, there is really no excuse for this.

Good modern hotel with pleasant staff
Pleasant staff, helpful and willing to inform about local transport and so on. Breakfast included, involving a wide variety of choices. Modern rooms recently refurbised, tv, internet and most other mod-cons for its price bracket. Decent location within walkable distance to the main train staion. I would stay again.

Easy to find hotel easy parking and very friendly staff with a nicely equipped clean room and bathroom, nice ides with the white LEDs in the shower. Excellent food I had a really good rumpsteak.

Wow - what a gem - You must stop here
This is the friendliest hotel we have ever stopped in - don't be put off by the star rating If we could I would rate this place as 5 Star. The lady of reception was lovely as was our room - the attic room top floor - wow (very large and loved the velux windows) The bar was opened when we returned in the evening (pity we didn't eat dinner as it smelt amazing) Breakfast was excellent So nice to stop in a non-change hotel

Schmidt-Mönnikes ist ein kleines, freundliches Hotel in einem Bochumer Vorort, an einer Durchgangsstraße. Es ist sehr gut geeignet für einen Kurzaufenthalt. Geschäftsleitung und Personal sind überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das zugehörige Restaurant "Vitrine" ist hervorragend. ÖPNV: Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Haus.
