overall good experience, nice staff, decent food. Waitresses in casino weren't that friendly, we waited for over 30 minutes for her to come back to get our check. but overall it was a good hotel and room

"This was on of our stays on a five day roadtrip and I can say that out of all the places we went this hotel had the BEST service. The two men at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Every employee we talked to was happy to be there doing their job."

Yeah, so don't go looking for the Lake. Because there isn't one. It got that name because it used to flood in that area centuries ago. Arcata is a 10 minute drive and theviews of the mountain are very pretty.
