I've been vacationing in Maine with my family for my whole life and it truly is vacationland. The Raven's Nest is a beautiful cottage with full amenities and unbeatable location. I look forward to staying there again next year and the years to come.
The owners are wonderful and very helpful. One of the best cottages we’ve ever stayed in!!! They thought of everything, and the views are spectacular!!!
Particularly impressed with kindness and generosity of our hosts, Leslie and Carol. Cottage extremely comfortable and well equipped and setting at water's edge could not be beat. They kept us amply supplied with fresh veggies from their garden which was a real plus. Extremely helpful with discovering the area. Beautiful and serene. Highly recommend to anyone.
Our stay here was outstanding. It was so quite, so peaceful, so beautiful. It was difficult for us to make ourselves leave just to explore the area. The cottage is charming and well appointed with nice linens, comfortable bed and everything you'll need for a lovely stay. Our hosts were the best; thoughtful & helpful without ever being intrusive. If you want to stay on the Maine coast, don't miss this lovely place. We saw loons, cormorants, ducks and seals every day along one eagle siting.
Our stay at Ravens Nest was great! When we arrived it was raining hard due to Hurricane Lee passing through the area. Leslie and Carol came out and offered to help us unload our vehicle.
We found the cabin to be very clean with all the accommodations we expected and the grounds, well the grounds are just beautiful. We recommend this rental property to anyone who visits the Down East part of Maine. It’s a jewel.
We loved our stay at Raven’s Nest. The cottage is immaculate and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. The bay view is expansive. We didn’t have very cooperative weather, but even so we enjoyed the beautiful view from the living room. If it had been a little bit warmer, we would have spent our time on the back deck and gazebo. It’s close to grocery stores, restaurants, and most importantly beautiful views and trails in every direction. We hope to return again.
We had a lovely week long stay at the Ravens Nest. The amazing view of the water is beautiful in all weather and the sunrise was stunning! We had a mostly foggy stay but it did not affect our enjoyment of the property. Close to lovely Blue Hill and other small towns a short drive away. Acadia is an easy day trip. We kayaked right from the house as well. Nature abounds, bring your binoculars! Carol and Leslie are gracious, lovely hosts
My husband and I stayed at The Raven’s Nest for 1 week at the end of September, to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We ate the best lobster, wild blueberry pie, mussels and oysters everyday! We built a fire out back a few times and toasted marshmallows. We truly had everything we needed and more. Carol, the host and her husband Les were friendly and had wonderful local information. We flew into Portland and spent the first and last day there. Lots of wonderful shopping and restaurants! We took day trips to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Deer Isle and Ellsworth to the LL Bean outlet store! We would love to come back to Bue Hiill and stay at The Raven’s Nest again! Absolutely awesome experience!!
We knew we picked well when Carol and Les greeted us with warmth and openness. Carol kept us well fed with organic vegetables from the garden which made for many delightful dinners. The kayaks got us enjoying the water. The deck brought us outdoors for dinners and stargazing. The bed was comfortable and the environment overall was very peaceful and quiet which is just what we were looking for. It was a wonderful stay. Great to sit by the water and read. Easy location in and out to explore the area. Ample information on things to do and sights to see. We are happy with our choice and while Carol and Les live nearby they were respectful of our privacy and yet available if we needed them. It felt like our own place and we never heard or saw any other neighbors.
We especially enjoyed the outdoor accommodations. Beautiful sunrises were enjoyed from the deck as well as from the water’s edge. We loved watching the boats, the tides rise, the abundance of nature and honesty even enjoyed watching a thunder storm roll in from the gazebo. Its a great location for all the areas we wanted to visit and Maine seafood never disappoints.
Lovely week right on the water, great location and lovely cottage, bigger than expected and well appointed. Owners available as needed but maintained our privacy.
Our stay was everything we expected and more. The location was very tranquil and peaceful, the cottage was very comfortable. On our first morning we were treated to a bald eagle flying out from the tree in front of the porch onto the water, and each day we watched the loons floating by. Our host, Carol was very welcoming and brought us fresh vegetables from her garden.
Enjoyed our stay at Ravens Nest. The view right outside the sliding doors is beautiful. Carol and Leslie were wonderful hosts and even shared their garden vegetables with us. There are hiking trails all around and Acadia is less than an hour away. It was nice to come back after a day of hiking and just relax on the deck. Thank you Carol and Leslie for sharing your little slice of heaven with us.
Location and setting (and weather!) were perfect. Had a lot of fun paddling around on the kayaks and watching the seals, loons, cormorants, jumping fish and the occasional porpoise.
My family has been coming to this area of Maine for over 30 years and it's always enjoyable. With wonderful views of the bay, the Raven's Nest cottage is the perfect location for beach walks, lobster cookouts, and relaxing. The property is comfortable and clean with updated amenities in the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry area. The host is friendly and responsive.
This cottage is gorgeous, it was spotless when we arrived and the hosts were so welcoming and helpful. It was a wonderful stay and we hope to return in the future.
We very much enjoyed our stay, we stayed 14 days and it still was not enough. The house has everything you need and the owners could not have been more helpful. We bought lobster at the Sleigh Bell & Lobster 3 different nights and it was delicious every time, they will cook the lobster for you and they are only a few minutes up the road. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who likes to be out of the busy area to just sit back and relax but it is not too far away from Bar Harbor. Thank you Leslie and Carol for a wonderful vacation. Cheryl
Property was comfortable and provided anything you might need during your stay. The owner’s were welcoming. We enjoyed the wonderful views of the bay and spent much of our time on the deck watching the wildlife. It was exactly what we needed to relax and explore the area, including Acadia National Park.
We had such a wonderful time staying at Raven’s Cottage! Such a beautiful location! Our hosts were so nice and accommodating! I would never get tired of the view! Such a lovely location! Can’t wait to come back again! Blue Hill Maine is truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited!
The cottage is exactly as advertised. Perfect for a single or couple. The owners greeted us with peaches and vegetables from their garden, so check-in was the best ever. The house is furnished beautifully and comfortably with a fully equipped kitchen, complete with sharp knives, quality cookware and crackers for the lobster. We spent lots of time, weather permitting, on the deck or down by the fire pit. The view is wonderful with loons, cormorants and seal. It was interesting to watch the lobstermen at work just a few hundred yards outside our door.
It is close to Blue Hill and Deer Isle, so plenty of places to shop and eat. Terrific hiking in abundance.
We hope to return.
The most wonderful cottage and the hosts- Carol and Leslie -are great. 2 weeks were just not enough. Thank you for sharing your cottage. See you next year!!
