Alpine Escape is the perfect accommodation for your family vacation or mountain getaway. The cabin is conveniently located between Blowing Rock and Boone, North Carolina (near Appalachian Ski Mountain), in a lovely mountainous setting surrounded by beautiful trees and native plantings. You'll feel secluded but at the same time close to everything. We hope you enjoy your time in the High Country and at our cabin.

Kick back in front of a stone fireplace or take in the mountain scenery from one of the three decks. This cabin has it all! Local attractions include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Ski Mountain (plus others) and Tweetsie Railroad. You are sure to enjoy your stay in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

Alpine Escape is located conveniently off 321 between Blowing Rock and Boone. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is 3 miles from our cabin. The towns of Blowing Rock, NC and Boone, NC are each within easy driving distance. The cabin features a paved entry and private driveway for easy accessibility, however 4WD is highly recommended in the winter. Alpine Escape is very kid-friendly. The cabin was in perfect location for easy access to Boone and Blowing Rock. Maureen was available via text when we needed assistance with locating their trash bins. We used the kitchen, Grill, and fire pit. Very happy with our experience.

The description of the property was spot on. Close to Boone and fully equipped. We had a great weekend and were so happy the property manager allowed us to check-in early so we could drop off our things. Great weekend!

Wonderful cabin for a family vacation
Alpine Escape was the perfect place for our family’s New Year’s vacation. Spacious enough for our 4 families to enjoy and not be too crowded. Owner/manager was very responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. The cabin has very pretty views. Location was both close to attractions that we wanted to visit as well as to the town for groceries and essentials. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

Cabin was very cozy and comfortable. Lovely, private setting. Met all our needs. In awe how close it was to all our activities. We watched the weather to make sure it would be fine but if any inclement weather is in your plans, I would suggest AWD to get to the house location.

Cool July stay
Nestled within the woods and mountains, it was cooler and lower humidity for NC July than I had imagined. Freed the whole family to explore the wonders of the area - waterfalls, trail hikes, tennis and golf, charming towns and vistas. Plenty of space for seven folk.

My family and I rented this cabin for two nights. We greatly appreciated the cleanliness of all rooms and common areas. The cabin was well stocked with everything you could think of. Mariah's Wedding
We stayed at the Alpine Escape the weekend of our daughter's wedding in Boone. It was a beautiful and very clean home, spacious with comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms. We weren't there to enjoy much around the property due to the wedding, but we planned to return soon and will plan to stay there whenever we are in Boone. Beautiful property!

Family Weekend Get Away
Had a wonderful time and made precious family memories. This Cabin was very clean and nice. Definitely was in the woods which gave a peaceful feeling. The road to it is narrow and steep but after driving to it for the first time we all agreed it was well worth it. Maureen was very helpful with any questions that I had prior to our visit. The location was perfect for going to Blowing Rock or Boone. Thank you for sharing your mountain retreat.

NC/SC Family get together
We had a great time at Alpine Escape! We used every bit of the house, especially enjoyed the large back deck, large dining table, and separate space for teens/kids to hang out. The kitchen was very well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We also appreciated the proximity to downtown Blowing Rock and Boone! Maureen was very responsive and accommodating. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home!

This place makes you feel like you're at home!
We stay at this home every time we are in the Blowing Rock area. So kid friendly! When you walk in, the home invites you. It's warm and cozy. The owner is awesome to work with. If you have an issue (which is quite rare), she's right on it to fix it. So, do yourself a favor, and spend time here! You'll be so glad that you did.

55th anniversary family trip
The property was very much like we expected.. Beautiful location nestled in the woods. Our host Maureen was very prompt to answer any questions we had. Didn't have to contact her at all once there. Kitchen was a little small for group of 10 although the table seated exactly 10 which was great!. All activities were relatively close by, and we enjoyed the scenery while driving. We had planned on having 12 members of our family join us, but since only had 10 there was plenty of room for everyone. 12 might have been a little crowded. We had the master bedroom and bath which was wonderful, and having the half bath off of the family room was very convenient. Everyone agreed that it was a wonderful trip.

Unsatisfied housekeeping
We stayed at this listing and we were very disappointed. It could have been a nice cabin to stay in, but it was not clean. It was listed that no pets were allowed to stay. When we arrived we toured through the house. My grandson was going to sleep on the trundle bed. When we pulled it out we discovered there was dog poop on the bed. We continued through the house and discovered dog hairs throughout the entire house (in different rooms and the bathrooms). We notified the host and sent her pictures. She sent someone to clean the trundle bed and clean the floors while we were out eating dinner. Upon returning, the housekeeper had changed the linens and comforter on the trundle bed but all the floors still had dog hair. When we went to bed that night we found dog hair in all the beds we were using; making us question if the sheets had even been washed. We ended up having to wash all the sheets on all the beds ourselves. You could also tell that none of the bathroom rugs had been vacuumed or cleaned, and that there were also dog hairs on the couches. My daughter has allergies and she had severe reactions when sitting on the sofas. We had rented this cabin knowing that pets were not allowed. Overall we felt the place was very unclean and it made it difficult to feel comfortable in the house.

65 Year Old Birthday Celebration
We were very disappointed in Alpine Escape log cabin. The location is great but everything about the cabin not so great. There is mold in the ceiling in both the basement and upstairs main living area. There is a dehumidifier in the basement, however it still had a damp musty odor which is probably due to the mold. The 2nd floor shower had an enclosure that was so dirty when you took a shower some of the gunk would wash into the shower. The carpets were extremely worn and dirty so much so that it was buckled up and you would trip on them. The couch fabric was worn and showing the cushion. The pantry door has been removed and contains things in it that are not safe for young children. The grill was on the front porch with no gas tank attached but it would not have been safe to use in that location. The furniture on the back deck was all stacked up where you could not use it. The master shower would not shut off on the morning we left which left us with no water to clean up and prepare to leave. The owner did not respond to this major problem until long after we checked out. The entire cabin is outdated showing extreme wear and in much need of repair. There are surveillance devices on the property which was not disclosed on the property description page which is against VRBO policy.

Great family vacation.
Stayed with our three kids, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren (infant through four years old). Cabin was beautiful and was clean, well maintained, and well suited for our family. Has gates for the stairs, and books and toys for the grandchildren. Based on the listing was expecting a crib, but it has a pack-and-play instead. Grandchildren enjoyed bath in Papa and Nana's jetted tub each night. Apart from the decks, there is not any outdoor play space at the cabin itself, but there is a great playground in downtown Blowing Rock, and a smaller and little used playground at Rocky Knob Bike Park, and plenty of activities around. Enjoyed the pump track at the bike park, Tweetsie Railroad, and Doc's Rock's Gem mining. Created great memories.
