Plumtree Cottage, nice property but left disappointed!
We stayed at Plumtree Cottage for 3 nights over the New Year and at first we found the property to be attractive and spacious with good facilities, however we were shocked to discover that certain basic items were not provided and the floors hadn't been mopped prior to our arrival. We thought we had brought everything we needed for a self-catering mini-break, but not bin bags and floor cleaner. Despite these setbacks, we settled in and were enjoying our stay until we discovered that we were being charged for excessive internet usage - for using the smart tv, which was not made clear to us when we arrived! The Cottage has an 8GB complimentary limit, which would be ok if you are sending whatsapp messages and browsing facebook, but when your 6 year old finds the tv remote and puts on Netflix (which had been left signed in to a previous guest's account) then you are in for a shock! And don't expect to be told when your 8GB is about to be used up, as the welcome pack states, you will have to wait until the next day and check your spam emails for an automated email telling you that you have to pay lots of money! A telephone call or knock on the door (when the owners live on site) would've been appreciated and probably expected. Instead you will be left to pay the property's internet bill for them.
This could have been a really nice break but unfortunately we left with a bad taste in our mouths and probably won't be returning.
