"The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. Last year, when we couldn't get off the island due to ferry problems, Jan put us up for an extra with no charge. "We loved our stay at the Wee Silverburn! It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Decorated so nicely, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking wares and cleaning supplies. The babbling brook just beyond the lush garden plantings completed the lovely setting. The location is wonderful, an easy walk down the beach and other offerings at Whiting Bay. The bus stop is right there too if you want to pop to a pub or two in Lamlash for dinner and drinks....

"We had a lovely time in the property, the house was great and the welcome basket was a perfect touch! Part of the reason we chose to come was for its proximity to the two Machrihanish courses but we didn't quite realise how great the beaches are as well! If we ever come back to the area, we would definitely look to stay hear again."

"The property has a cosy comfy cottage feel and look internally. The bed was comfy as well. The viewing room above is great for reading etc. The Lookout really is a great place for viewing the sea and surrounding vistas! We enjoyed a very peaceful week away from normal life and noise. No noisy traffic except for the odd motorboat or lifeboat on call! We took our kayaks and were able to leave them near the slipway ready for use. Logged in to their website to find all the information there. Probably spent too much money by booking through Homeaway rather than direct with Cottages. Com. Views were stunning, great location. But the flat itself was fine, a bit basic but it had everything we needed, nice and clean, plenty of towels, quiet despite being next to a busy road.
