Spent 4 days fishing the New River and enjoying fun evenings around the camp fire. Beautiful Location right on the New RIver. Jake, the host, was a great guy, made you feel welcome and right at home. We will be back next year!

No WiFi at all, no phone signal. Hard to communicate if you have students at VT. Closest restaurant/gas/wifi signal is about 10 minutes driving. Water is well and it smells like sulfur, we had to brush our teeth with bottle of waters. Beautiful river and mountain view. Open backyard.
We had to move two Hokies, one out and one in to a BB townhouse. Having stayed at the Little Blue Cottage in the winter 2021 to take our Hokie skiing at Winterplace, we knew this house would be ideal for a multi day stay and a place to park our trailer and once done moving, tube the New River at the New River Junction campground next store. We had so much fun and the cottage is ideal. Comfortable beds and plenty of space. The scenery is lovely and we enjoyed watching the egrets over morning coffee on the small deck. It was so much fun and we look forward to staying next year and perhaps have more time to relax.

Quite, Relaxing, and perfect for a family get together
The property owners were very nice and responsive. I rented this property to host my family Christmas. The temperatures were in the single digits. They made sure we had extra blankets, fire wood, heaters, and made us some delicious cookies.

Lovely Riverfront
The home seems to be in the process of being upgraded. Sleeping conditions weren't great...there is not actually room for 6 adults, and the beds weren't great. We appreciated both the outdoor firepit and the indoor fireplace. Wonderful waterfront location about 20 minutes from downtown BB. Host was friendly and responsive
Gorgeous scenery!! On New River and way from the busy life. There’s no Wi-Fi or cable so kids will learn the definition of family time!!! There are movies and board games which we enjoyed. Our dogs came with us which was extra special. Great communication with the owner Jake. He was also very accommodating!
Jake was a perfect host. The Blue House is nice & clean as well as being right on an excellent section of the New River for smallmouth wading. Perfect place to play, rent tubes and kayaks, and enjoy the beautiful New River. Jake recommended a local guide, Tangent Outfitters, and they hooked me up with a great day-long fishing raft trip. I returned to stay again about three days after checking out, which is the best review I could leave.
Excellent location. Nice river access in back yard. Owner communication was great, quick to respond and checked in a few times to see if we needed anything. Will definitely be back!!
My son is a medical resident in Blacksburg and couldn’t come home so we decided to spend Christmas with him. The house sits right on the New River. Gorgeous view. We had several indoor fires though there was a fire pit too. The owner brought us some wood and we were thrilled. Perfect for a weekend with your mate, or a girls trip.
We rented this cabin while in Blacksburg for the VT vs ND game. It's about 15 miles from campus and it provided a peaceful get away. It's modest and functional. Had it not been raining a fire in the fire pit would have been perfect with the river flowing in the background. Only downside was my phone service (T mobile) didn't work well there Nad made communicating with others on gameday a little challenging. Also , no wifi or cable channels. Which is fine, but know that going in.
We had such a great getaway weekend, the property was clean, staff was all incredibly nice and helpful and the view was to die for!! Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!!
We had a great time staying in the blue house. We were moving a kid into Tech so coming back to relax by the river was amazing after a long day. Jake was a great host and always available if we needed something. Would definitely return!!!

Was a awesome weekend except for the first two nights of rain... But other than that my wife and I had a really great time. Cozy small house right next to river, had everything we needed except for food items. Property management was helpful with every thing we needed. Very peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed. We will be renting again in the future.... Thanks.
Perfect River House for hiking fishing and seclusion.
Great house on amazing property surrounded by the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. The mountains and the river are the star of this show. The road the house is on is a nature tour in it own right. Close enough to any outdoor adventure you want but far enough away to be alone if that's what you seek. It was a great trip we will definitely be back to stay at the little blue river house. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Short getaway!
The house was clean and close to the river. Jake was very responsive and helpful. One thing to point out is that there is an active train track across the street from the house and across the river. The trains seemed to come every couple of hours. Luckily our kids enjoyed this, but it might not be great if your were looking for something quieter.
The house is pretty basic, but perfect for a short getaway. The fireplace was nice, and there was even a little bit of good firewood waiting on us when we checked in. Cell service was limited to outside and maybe one corner of the kitchen, which was fine. The trains might wake you up at night if you're not used to it, but the views of the river and mountains from the patio were amazing. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We wanted a place on the river and this was perfect. Views of the river from the kitchen and a full yard for enjoying the day. We perched our chairs by the river, tucked the dog into her bed by the river and enjoyed reading our books.
This was also a great location for us to drive to several Brookie trout fishing locations in the Jefferson National Forest.
This was an enjoyable place to stay. The weather was rough but that's not the house's fault. I will look to come back during the warmer months and float down the river.
