Camellia Cottage at Evans Lookout, Blue Mountains

Camellia Cottage is a hidden gem in the Blue Mountains surrounded by maple trees and camellias. Enjoy a relaxing glass of wine with friends or family on the back garden veranda, or warm yourself next to the toasty fireplace in the cooler months. For those who love nature, Evans Lookout and the Grand Canyon Walk are only few minutes’ drive away and offer some of the best views and walking experiences in the Blue Mountains National Park. Camellia Cottage promises a peaceful retreat with its natural setting and modern comforts.
The space
The minute you walk into Camellia Cottage, you will feel music dancing in the air. Your musical friend may want to show off their talents on the piano whilst you relax around the fireplace or in front of the large TV camouflaged as a piece of artwork. Next to the living room, there is an open area combining the kitchen and dining spaces. The kitchen was recently renovated with a new oven and cooktop and the large dining table is big enough for 6 adults to share a meal after a day out exploring the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park.

Stepping out of the backdoor from the kitchen is the covered veranda that offers comfortable outdoor furniture and a Weber BBQ for your group to enjoy. Going further is our camellia garden with cherry trees and rhododendrons, lavenders and herbs that provide a calming and relaxing energy. The large lawn can be used for family games or to enjoy a private picnic.

There are 3 bedrooms (2 with queen size beds) offering plenty of sunlight, with the surrounding trees providing dappled shade and privacy into all rooms. The views from both the back and front bedrooms offers seasonal flowers and leaves.
The bathroom has recently been upgraded with brand new warm bathroom lights. We also have washing machine and dryer for you to use.

Winter is the most popular season in the mountains. Many people love indoor fireplace and firewood . We have prepared reasonable amount of firewood for you to enjoy during the winter months from June to August. Based on our experience, the amount of firewood should be sufficient to get you start for your stay. If you need more firewood, you can easily buy them from the nearby petrol station. To protect our environment, please consume firewood responsibly.

Decent home in the hart of mountains
The house has all that is required for convenient stay of 6 people, that is well equipped kitchen, seperate dining, launge, 3 bedrooms, ducted heater in all rooms and split airconditioner in dining, pleasant and green backyard with nice outdoor area, wood fireplace. Single bathroom may be a bit of a problem for the large company. It would be nice to have wood choping tools in order to make chips suitable for starting the fire, because logs provided or available in shops are way too thick for the purpose. Location is good, especially for hiking entusiasts. The small sharming coffee shop is only 100m away.

Sweet and cosy
A well presented cottage with a pretty outlook to the back yard. We stayed during a cold snap which affected the pipes to the shower. Wayne responded to the problem immediately and the issue was fixed the same day. Loved having fire raging when the temp dropped to zero.

Great Location - Clean, cosy and warm
This house was perfect for myself and two of my friends for a weekend getaway. Short drive to Blackhealth shops and scenic walks. It is dust free, clean and has good central heating with the option of a combustion fire. You'd need to bring your own wood for the fire - only kindling provided. The beds are comfortable. The styling is very classy and the option to use some musical instruments (piano and guitar) was a nice bonus. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely little getaway
We had a lovely stay in this house for a few days! The house was tidy, backyard lovely for our kids (5 & 3) and the fireplace was a treat when the temp dropped! The kitchen was a little sparse, and there was no kid friendly plates, cups etc (fine from a function perspective the kids had no issue using what was available but we just didn’t want them to break anything!) 2 of the 3 beds were quite comfy, but the bed in the main room wasn’t. The “mattress” was a piece of foam on top of what feels like a wooden panel. No bounce or cushion, so if you like a super firm sleeping surface it’s for you. The shower head in the bathroom was a little wild - stuck on half spray half jet and points more toward the shower door so the floor / mats get wet. Height adjustment is minimal, so if you’re over 6ft you’ll have to duck down! Good for a short stay!

Great tidy property that is family friendly in great location
We booked this property for a long weekend getaway in the Blue Mountains area with our family of 4, my wife and I and our 2 kids (11 and 9). The place is located in a great location between Katoomba and Blackheath town centres. It is up the road from Evans lookout and on a very quiet street. The property itself is a good size for a family of 4 with 3 bedrooms and good sized, living and dining areas. The log fireplace in the lounge room is perfect for those cold nights. The property has central heating and an additional air conditioning unit in the dining area. The bathroom was clean and very functional. The hosts provided all required, towels, shampoos and soap for the showers. The backyard is very large and lots of space to run around or sit and relax in the supplied outdoor lounges and there is also a gas BBQ. We had a very pleasant stay in this property and everyone was very relaxed and comfortable.

I would recommend this property, it was close to Katoomba. The air-conditioning was on when we arrived, the house was lovely and warm. We had a fire going the 2nd night. The linen and bedding was great. Nothing to fault
