Your family will be within walking distance to UAB hospital and plenty of restaurants at this centrally-located retreat. Gather together with those you love around the pool and backyard fire pit! Are you traveling with your pet? We love our pets and welcome yours, too.

The Space:
Welcome to our historic gem in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama, where the echoes of the past meet the comforts of the present. Built in 1914, our carefully preserved home offers a unique glimpse into the charm and character of a bygone era.

As you step through the front door, you'll be greeted by the warmth of history and the inviting embrace of a well-maintained living space. This time-honored residence boasts 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office space, and a game room, each carefully designed to harmonize with the vintage aesthetic while offering modern conveniences. The master bedroom, a retreat upstairs, features its own fireplace, adding a touch of elegance and warmth.

Our home is more than just a space; it's a haven for both work and play. The dedicated office space provides a quiet sanctuary for productivity, while the game room invites leisure and entertainment. Sink into the small couch or bean bag chairs, indulge in gaming adventures with the Nintendo Switch, or choose from an array of board games for lively gatherings.

The dining experience is an affair to remember in our abode. Gather around the large 8-person formal dining room table for festive meals and celebrations. For more intimate gatherings, the kitchen boasts a 4-seated table, perfect for cozy breakfasts or casual conversations.

Planning to bring your pet? We love our pets and we know others do too! If you would like to bring yours there is a pet fee attached. We do offer doggy bags, dog bed, and other comforts to make your pet enjoy their stay! We do ask that your dog be crated if you choose to leave the home. Fall Getaway
What a great place to getaway to in the fall! With fall temperatures, the place is perfect for hanging out indoors or outside on the front or back porch. The location is in a great area near Lakeview and a multitude of parks in Highland Ave. The host was great to communicate with as we planned our arrival.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and stay at your property. Our time in Birmingham was super hot and the pool was our sanctuary! Oh how we loved the pool. Overall the house was perfect for our time and our needs. Having the individual A/C units in each room made it great for everyone to decide their comfort level on how cool they wanted their nights. We had a few minor issues and when we reached out to the Host, we received an immediate response and an immediate solution. Our Host was amazing and ensured our stay was nothing but perfect. And the neighbourhood was gorgeous and so wonderful to walk around. And if you want to have the best pizza in town, walk down the street to the "Slice". It's barely a 4 min walk and it's an amazing restaurant. If I ever come back to Birmingham I am definitely staying here again!!!!

Convient to everything
Easy to locate, driveway is good for three cars everyone else will have to park on the street, easy access into the house, UPSTAIRS IS UNBELIEVABLY WARM in the daytime and at night it is just OK! A/C units are in every room but it still does not cool the house down enough to a comfortable state majority of my guest were still hot. Door leading out to the pool is janky and hard to open, but the pool was good size we really enjoyed it.Beach towels available and so is a washer and dryer. The kitchen is small but had plenty of space of what we needed it for, dishes were available. Almost ran out of tissue and when contacted the host they said we had to purchase more. My only complaint is if you are going to do that please make sure new rolls are set every new guest because majority of the rolls were less than half and a house of 8 women just was not a good fit, Overall the house was nice & decorated nice. Be mindful all bedroom are upstairs and its only one bathroom up there the other one is downstairs. I'm not sure I would stay again only because of the heat upstairs but to each their own.

1900’s charm with pool & great location
Great location for UAB graduation/family weekend. Lots of 1900’s character. Pool was awesome amenity with floats & beach towels on site! Host was super nice; property & pool were very clean! Home had plenty of room to hang out and for dining. Note: All 4 bedrooms are upstairs w/1 bath and the other bath is downstairs. In upstairs bath, only 1 item can be plugged in at a time (from what we saw). Bedrooms have portable a/c units that sit on the floor which did keep bedrooms cool. Each guest had 1 bath towel & 1 washcloth for the weekend.

Great for Girls Weekend
This property was great for a girls weekend away. The location was good for walking to downtown spots near UAB. I wish there was more water pressure in the shower, but it worked well enough. We also had a great time at the house in the pool. The owners are great host.

Hot Nightmare
The upstairs bedrooms were all very hot. It was so hot they brought in portable a/c units, but did not install them properly and vented the exhaust into the bedroom The 2nd night they turned on the portable units and sat them up on dining room chairs which flooded the floor. It was still hot the 2nd night and everyone was miserable. Upstairs game room was unusable due to the heat in that room. We spent a lot of time accommodating their maintenance staff visits and trying to be helpful.Their maintenance staff broke out a window and didn't clean up the glass for almost 2 hours. Roaches in the upstairs rooms (guess they love the heat). In the pool area there were dead weeds that had not been removed. We took pictures of all the issues including the temperature readings which we sent to the host. She stated there is no thermostat upstairs. There is only 1 bathroom upstairs for 4 bedrooms. Very limited water pressure in shower. Upstairs is very dark, not bright like online pictures. Found ball of hair in one of the beds. Front porch swing broke and was not safe. We were very disappointed and were told we could just leave the next afternoon if we were not happy even though two of our guests were still at the doctor being treated and we would not able to find anything else on only a few hours notice.We stayed the 2nd night thinking they would remedy the problem.They tried but were unsuccessful. We will not ever consider this property again ... we don't believe you should either.

Great Stay!
We had a great time in Birmingham. The home was very accommodating, from plenty of towels to a kitchen ready to make meals! A nice surprise was the close proximity to parks for the children and access to lots of shopping. Highly recommend!
