Since this hotel is inexpensive, I wasn't expecting much, but I didn't even get what I was expecting. The staff were either indifferent or outright rude. At one point when a lightbulb went out, I was expected to come down to the front lobby, pick up the light bulb, and change it myself. Really?! The advertised free wi-fi was unavailable my entire stay, with no other options given and no explanation of why or when it might be operational again. Also, the front staff could give me no information about local sites, bus routes or even whether there were nearby ATMs or restaurants. When asked, the staff were very impolite and rude about any questions asked about anything.
My room, a single, was very small, the mattress extremely worn and the shower reminded me of those used in kennels for pet cleaning. The sink was unclean with the whisker remains of a previous guest's shaving. The trash can had not been emptied from the previous guest.
The only good thing I can say is the lobby of the Waldorf is immaculate. I was very impressed with it, the restaurant and bar. Once past the lobby and restaurant, it's a completely delapidated mess. I've stayed in hostels that were nicer than this place and a better bargain for my money.
