Issues with plumbing
We had major plumbing issues shortly after we arrived on Friday, 1 person used the shower and it backed up into the toilets, we couldn’t flush the toilets and had to use a store’s bathroom for bowel movements. We had 10 of us. It was obviously an ongoing problem because there were signs in both bathrooms saying not to flush anything but toilet paper. I am angry because it took 3 phone calls and several text messages to get a plumber in on Saturday at 10:30. The main line kept telling us someone will call you back. Never did. Otherwise loved the house and location. We were there for my brothers funeral and no showers was a huge issue

Not quite as nice as it looked in pictures.
This is a nice remodeled house from 1935, nicest house on the block actually. The inside is nicely done with modern and nostalgic blend. And that’s about the end of the good. The neighborhood is not the greatest, which is mentioned way down in the description. If I hadn’t been booking in a hurry to evacuate from hurricane Ian I might have seen that they say they will not refund if you get there and the neighborhood is not to your liking. That should be a MAJOR red flag. The exterior doors do not give a great sense of security. Neither close securely when not deadbolted. The windows seem original to the house and do not open, partly because they are 87 years old and warped and partly because the frames and the rope that operates them are painted. I’m pretty sure that is some code violation. Floors are not level, especially under the dining table. The “nostalgic “ kitchen sink is nasty, scratched and rusty. The bedroom doors don’t close tight. There was no remote in the master bedroom making the fan inoperable. The soaking tub is only good if you like soaking in cold water. There was hot water to the master shower but not the tub. The pictures show a fenced yard, but the description does mention waaayyyy down that it is not fully fenced. Not fully fenced means half a gate missing and the other gate is so badly maintained that it won’t close. The “seven steps up to the front door” are not the only ones leading to the door. There is no way to enter the house without navigating stairs with no handrail. This was huge safety issue for my elderly mother. We ended up leaving after two of the four days we booked. When contacted the management company very bluntly told me they need to “adhere to their cancellation policies.” When I inquired about speaking with the owner I was told simply that “the homeowner works within the management company as well.”

FUN weekend in Bham!
This space was perfect for our large group. It was only minutes from Uptown/Downtown and our other activities. We loved the hiking and the trailhead was only minutes away.

Plenty of space
The house had plenty of room to accommodate our number of guests. The master bathroom was great and the king bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable.
