Beautiful Edmonston Lodge is nestled in the woodland grounds of Edmonston House and offers an idyllic retreat, with beautiful scenery and plenty to explore nearby. . All on the Ground Floor:

Travel cot and highchair available on request. . Enclosed garden with garden furniture. 25-acre grounds (shared with owners). Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Set on the edge of 25 acres of the lovely woodland grounds of Edmonston House, the owner’s home, this spacious cottage has a lot of living space and a slightly quirky layout. The cosy living room, with a wood burner and comfortable sofas, leads through to the kitchen then dining room, then sun room. The twin bedroom with wet room is accessed through the king sized bedroom, while the third bedroom is on the other side of the cottage accessed through the kitchen.
There are delightful dog walks from the doorstep around Edmonston lake and many hillwalking and cycling choices near Biggar. Drive west for 30 minutes and you will arrive at the World Heritage site at New Lanark, an 18th-century mill village set by the roaring Falls of Clyde, while 30 minutes’ to the east is the picturesque town of Peebles set on the lovely River Tweed. Try out the mountain bike trails and Go Ape at Glentress, just 6 miles further on, in the vicinity too are historic Traquair House and Dawyck Gardens. Biggar has a range of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops and great local food suppliers. Horse grazing is available by direct arrangement with the owners. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Das Objekt ist schön und angenehm ruhig gelegen. Es ist sehr viel Platz vorhanden und die Austattung ist sehr gut. Manches wie die Heizung oder die Dusche ist alterschwach und entspricht nicht mehr dem heutigen Standard. Die Nähe zu Biggar, einer angenehmen Ortschaft, in der man alles Notwendige einkaufen kann und auch gute Gaststätten vorhanden sind, ist vorteilhaft.

Edmonston Lodge is set in a lovely quiet spot.
Edmonston Lodge is set in a lovely quiet spot. It would be ideal for families. A good base to travel to Edinburgh (bus stop very close), the nearby villages of Broughton, Biggar and Peebles are easily accessed. Plenty of walks in the area - John Buchan Way is a lovely walk,especially in good weather.

Lovely little cottage in beautiful surroundings.
Lovely little cottage in beautiful surroundings. Great amenities with initial soap, kitchen towel, loo roll and dishwasher tablets provided. Welcoming hosts who even provided spare router when the one we had was blown in a rare lightening storm. Dogs loved the garden but did find an escape route into the field which they took complete advantage of! Biggar itself is lovely and would highly recommend the Big Red Barn for walks and lunch and the Elphinstone Hotel served gorgeous meals. A few minor negatives such as having to clean the garden of dog muck on arrival (previous guests should have cleaned up after their dogs as we did but a point for hosts/cleaner to double check in future), not enough towels (5 bath towels but only one hand towel) and unfortunately the drain in the en suite blocked on our last night. That being said, we would definitely recommend this cottage and would consider staying there again if we are visiting the area in the future.

We had really enjoyable time.
We had really enjoyable time. The cottage was well appointed and really cosy. The garden was totally enclosed and private, perfect for our dog. It was very much like a quirky home from home. We would recommend it to anyone!
