Big Hill Rustic Retreat

Set into the hillside on approximately 5 acres of beautiful, private bush that backs onto the National Park, this impressive home is an unparalleled paradise for nature lovers, birdwatchers and bushwalkers alike.

Rustic Australian-sourced timbers, hardwood floors, stone cladding, an exposed tin ceiling and extensive glazing reflect the natural surrounds. Notable past owners include the Bird Observers Club of Australia who owned the property for 30 years and influential landscape designer, Edna Walling, and with its beautiful natural land and abundant birdlife, it is easy to see the attraction for each.

This sensational coastal retreat offers the best of both worlds, with its secluded bush location and breathtaking views of the coastline and forest through to Airey's Inlet. The north-facing deck captures the sun until dusk. Sit at the built-in timber 'kookabar' and relax with a drink in this shady barbecue spot while looking out at the ocean views.

*Living and Entertainment Space*
The superbly constructed residence has a huge open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The air-conditioned lounge room centres around a brick open fireplace, and has a big screen TV with WiFi and speakers. Timber and natural elements feature throughout, including in the farm-style stainless steel kitchen, which is fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven with cooktop, microwave and full size fridge/freezer.

Enormous 6m glass doors line the living room wall to offer unimpeded views. The living area opens up completely to the entertaining balcony, where your panoramic outlook showcases the uninterrupted beauty of nature surrounding you. The impressive deck wraps around 3 sides of the house and has a BBQ, bar seating and sun lounges to relax and enjoy the tanquility.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Great house but cleaning required
Team was easy to contact. Key collection was ok. Would have been better if the keys were at the property. We arrived at the property and were amazed. We walked into the house and loved the view immediately. As it was a long drive. We decided to get a drink. Went to grab a glass to noticed they were dirty. Glasses were also sitting on this concrete floor. Very strange and unsanitary. Above the glasses were the coffee cups and they were also dirty. I started inspecting the place and it did not have a good first impression. The diswasher was full. Some glasses had water in them and dishes were dirty. Same goes for the cutlery and plates in the cupboard. Spider webs everywhere. The couch was big and looked so comfy. It would have been much better if it was not dirty. The throw also was dirty and old. It even had a big hole through it. The other ones in the basket were also dirty. For the price, this property should have been cleaned prior to guest arrival. So i started my supposed to be "relaxed" long weekend by cleaning dishes, wiping down surfaces and removing spider webs. The next morning, i washed 2 of the throws so we could use them. The placed looked like people lived there. Presentation not the best for such a beautiful place. Guests would book places like this to leave their home and relax. No one wants to go away and start their trip by cleaning someone else's place when they paid pretty decent money to stay there. Please clean. Overall, ok
