Big Bear Lake
Very quiet and peaceful. Looking off deck is the mountain forest with lots of birds and a great view. Yes, there are steps down to the house, your on a mountain! Very clean, plenty of room inside with all the amenities. Hot tub worked good, would stay here again.

Review
Location is beautiful. The hot tub was luke warm and we were unable to adjust the settings and the water did look a bit murky. The couches and carpet in the living room were filthy. The bathroom sink smelled like mildew and the plastic shower curtain was dirty. The extra sheets in the hallway closet were filled with dog hair and what felt like sand or dirt. The kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery and cooking items. The beds were comfortable.

Great cabin to escape to!
This cabin is in a great location, overlooking the San Bernardino National Forest. I enjoyed many morning coffees and afternoon beverages on the porch looking out at nature and reading my book. Would recommend to anyone who wants to escape into nature but still have electricity, running water, and wifi access!

Cabin was clean, cozy and secluded with pretty sunrise views, but the jacuzzi water was murky and gross, the beds were hard as a rock, pull out sofa was uncomfortable as well as some questionable stains on it. Location was a bit out of the way, couldn’t imagine getting there in a blizzard, forget that, and two flights of stairs with all our luggage was horrible. So overall it was just ok.

It was okay. We arrived wanting to get in spa, they made a big deal how clean it was and renter needed to keep clean too and we get there and it is dirty. My favorite part was the property manager telling me it was clean when I’m talking to her on the phone and it dirty. Whole thing ruined the stay. Still nice home owners need a new property manager.

This was exactly what we needed… Peaceful/relaxing atmosphere… A perfect getaway! You should be aware that there are 40 steps (pretty steep) to get down to the property (and back up again when you leave).

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here. It was a great get away and was super relaxing. Awesome views and close to the downtown. Renting it was very as well and the staff is quite friendly.

Beautiful escape but be prepared
We are a family of 6. It was tight. We didn’t use the pull-out bc it had food crumbs on it, but were able to sleep well. It snowed a lot and luckily we had 4-wheel drive. We had to shovel ourselves out. Home was clean and very warm. Beautiful views from the porch. We sledded in the backyard. 15 min drive to ski (would’ve been faster without icy roads). It did the job and we had fun regardless.

Winter Getaway Beauty
We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The water heated up quickly in the bathroom, which is appreciated. The heater also kept us comfortably warm from the outside cold. The only reason I didn’t give this home 5 stars is because it wasn’t a little closer to town...the winding (sometimes steep) streets, especially when it’s snowing, made the drive a little worrisome for me. There were several cars unable to make some of the hills, and some caused accidents.....obviously not the homeowner’s fault, but something to consider. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely love this place
Four of us stayed at Overlook Retreat this past weekend and really loved the place. Starting with the location which is very secluded with a lot of privacy and amazing views. The cabin was very charming and extremely clean. Fully equipped with everything we needed for a fun and comfortable stay!
