A fabulous holiday home for all the family, this wonderful cottage is positioned less than a mile from secluded Peppercombe Beach, where you can wander along the shingle, explore rock pools and look out for seals. Just next door to the house is the village pub, and you’re right by the A39 for quick and easy day trips around Devon and into Cornwall. Explore Westward Ho! with its wonderful beach (7.5 miles), Bude with its famous sea pool (20 miles), or Croyde the surfing capital of North Devon (24 miles). In the historic harbour town of Bideford, 5 miles away, you’ll find plenty of shops and places to eat, while Clovelly is a 6.5-mile trip and a beautiful fishing village (entrance fee) that’s steeped in history. The little ones will love the Milky Way Adventure Park and the Big Sheep Theme Park, both within 4 miles.
This lovely semi-detached getaway, around 150 years old, boasts original features, lovely wooden floors throughout, and has a real feeling of warmth and comfort. The place where you’ll immediately want to get cosy is the welcoming lounge. This charming room boasts an array of seating, a wood burner and a Smart TV. Feel free to stream your favourite shows, whether that’s children’s movies or a binge-worthy series. The pretty kitchen is well stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare tasty family meals, and has a dishwasher to help with cleaning up afterwards. Dine in the separate dining room, with its ornamental fireplace. Completing the ground floor is a small utility room with WC and washing machine. Take the cottage-style stairs to the first floor to find all three bedrooms, each of which has ample storage. From the king-size bedroom and twin bedrooms there are views over fields towards Bideford Bay, while the double room overlooks the courtyard. The bedrooms share an appealing shower room with a bespoke cubicle that has a rainwater shower.
For fresh air and relaxation in the afternoon and evening sun, there’s a small rear courtyard with seating. An extra-special touch is the hot-water outdoor shower, which is ideal for dogs or for sandy humans returning from the beach. There is also space to store bikes and sports equipment, and to hang wetsuits. Parking is next to the wall outside the property, parking for two cars maximum.
