House / Villa - BEYNAC

(Text automatically translated) At the heart of the medieval village of Beynac, in the shops and small inns, this house of the fifteenth fully restored in 2000 in a charming spirit will seduce you with its exceptional location on the river and the nearby castles. Very comfortable, cool in summer with its stone walls, outdoor terrace, private pool offer breathtaking views of the Dordogne River. What joy in the morning to go through the streets in shops in the village, very friendly, lunch or drinks his coffee in the small village restaurants.

Excellent property very good owner
One of the best Vrbo properties we have stayed in. Owner met us at the village shop and took us to the private parking and the property. Catherine, the owner then went out of her way to get us booked into a local restaurant for an evening meal, as we were delayed on our journey and too late to shop. Location was perfect for all the local shops and restaurants. Beautiful view from the 2 terraces and swimming pool cleaned every day, all household appliances well maintained and oven was brand new, so all round excellent experience and thoroughly enjoyable stay. Situated in the golden triangle of the Perigord and all that has to offer. Would definitely go again. Thanks Catherine

The most magical view
We had a wonderful stay here. Catherine, the hostess, was lovely and the house was comfortable (the sitting room was especially spectacular—even better than the photos). It was great to have the AC available, especially with a toddler. We spent most of our two weeks on the terrace admiring the view of the river, watching hot air balloons, herons, swans, and swifts fly past. The pool, also, was a treat. And Beynac itself is a truly dreamy destination. We’d highly recommend and hope to be back one day.

Our stay at the Terrace in Baynec
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Terraces rental in Beynac. The spacious property easily accomodated our family of 6. The pool was nice when the weather became sunny. An absolute gem, we wished we could have stayed longer.

An amazing location
We have had the best stay in Beynac in Catherine's house. The handover process was easy, and very welcoming. The house is the perfect location for getting to know Beynac and the surrounding villages better. The view of the Dordogne and evening views of the hot air balloons passing along the river are exceptional. A perfect stay!

Beautiful property: stunning location
The owner met us and showed us everything. The house was beautifully appointed and had the best equipped kitchen/dining area I have experienced in a vrbo. We were two couples and the house accommodated us nicely. The views are sublime. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Lovely House, Sad to Leave!!
We enjoyed a fantastic week at the house; great communication from Catherine, especially the check-in process - all very easy. The house had all the amenities you need for a home from home experience and is beautifully decorated and furnished. The view from the pool area and the terrace are amazing, that words can't really describe, wonderful; the Dordogne river is literally on your doorstep. The pool is great and a welcome refresher after a hard morning strolling around the various nearby attractions; actually it's where I spent most of the afternoons. Will definitely be back again! The best house in Beynac et Cazenac
Wow! Les Terrasses is a very special place. There’s a private parking space/garage right in the heart of the village and very close to the house, which is an absolute bonus and very rare. The location and views are wonderful, South facing and overlooking the Dordogne river. The private pool is a very good size with a lovely sun lounging area, then there’s a beautiful separate patio area with charcoal barbecue surrounded by a small well kept garden and fragrant jasmine tumbling over the entrance. The upper balcony/ seating area has an electric sunshade and perfect large table and chairs for alfresco dining, with lovely pots of lavender. You can watch hot air balloons gliding over in the evenings and early mornings, it’s truly magical. Then there’s the house itself, an historic stone building over 3 floors, sympathetically renovated to retain original features. Immaculately clean and very well equipped and with a dishwasher and washing machine. The view from the second floor double bedroom is just gorgeous. Catherine and her husband are also perfect hosts. Judging by the surrounding properties, Les Terrasses has the best pool, the best views, and it’s a wonderful house, what more could you ask for?

Lovely Holiday!
The house was more beautiful and well appointed than described. The views of the chateaus, hillside and nightly hot air balloons were relaxing while sitting by the pool or on the deck after a day of sight seeing. Please be aware that the house is not easily accessible if you have mobility issues. A car is highly recommemded and a minimum of luggage since the walk from the garage is rocky and steep. However, when you get to the house it is well worth the effort and you will not be disappointed.

Fantastique!
A fabulous house in a stunning location. The panoramic views over the Dordogne valley and medieval chateaux are lovely, even without the daily visit from the montgolfieres! The house is clean and well maintained, the owners are welcoming, and the pool provides a fantastic way to cool off in the summer heat. Within a stone's throw there are plenty of restaurants, an excellent boulangerie, and plenty of activities - walking, swimming (in the river), visiting the chateau, the caves and the local market etc, The location in the centre of the village means that there is a bit of traffic and restaurant noise, but this calms down at dusk. We tried to think of a negative... the only thing we came up with was that the kettle doesn't pour very well!!

Wonderful Holiday Home
We so enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property. Beynac is a small beautiful village well situated for discovering the Dordogne. The house is as presented...beautiful view, well stocked kitchen, tasteful decoration, private pool.. Guests stayed in the separate guest room complete with modern bathroom. They are steps away but also have privacy. The village has all one needs...restaurants, pharmacy, wine store, boulangerie, etc. I would highly recommend this home.

Perfect!
What a tranquil and beautiful spot - we were all delighted with this house. The view from the terrace was just stunning. Looking out of the upstairs bedroom in the morning, you can actually see fish jumping in the river below - we enjoyed dinner on the terrace several nights - the local restaurants just couldn't compare for atmosphere. Despite being tucked right in the village, the small garden feels very private. I rented bikes for the week, but the roads in and out of Beynac are a little scary for biking. It might have been better to just arrange to pick up the bikes in next village when we wanted them. Great biking paths/small roads starting in Castlenaud... The house and village are more than 400 years old, so not without quirks, the stairs are a little narrow, the downstairs bedroom is not connected to the rest of the house, so you have to walk outside for your morning coffee - the parking is up a cobbled lane... The charms of the house more than make up for any compromise - we would book here again if we returned to the area. I don't believe we could have chosen a better house. Very clean, convenient, idyllic... Thank you, Catherine, for sharing this beautiful house!

Great location and a beautiful view
Having booked based on the photographs, we were delighted that the house is exactly as presented. The view from the house on every level is incredible in the flesh. With temperatures in the mid 30s, we took full advantage of the good sized pool and air-conditioning. Parking was conveniently located near the property and, although narrow in parts, we managed to get a large 4x4 up and down with care. Beynac is a great base for exploring the region with plenty going on. There's the castle at the top of Beynac, canoeing on the river, prehistoric cave paintings and the colourful local markets offering great local produce to name just a few. Nearby, Sarlat provides the larger supermarkets, but with a butcher, 2 bakeries and a convenience store a short walk away from the house, more of the holiday can be spent on less mundane activities. The owners are keen to help you get the most from your visit and, quite rightly, very proud of the property.

Amazing location for river views.
This place was in a great location for visiting lots of interesting sites. Lots of chateaux medieval towns, the stunning gardens of Marquesac and canoe/boat trips on the Dordogne. Beynac castle was fabulous. Genuine point if you are thinking of staying in this house- it is blessed with a parking spot which is fairly close but there are old steps to get to the house. This is a wonderful place. However it would not be suitable for someone with difficulties walking.

Lovely house, nicely furnished, beautiful views.Towels were old & thin.Long uneven walk from garagee
We had a lovely week here with warm and mostly dry weather. Not hot enough for pool use unfortunately, but it was nice to sit by the pool and read in the afternoon in the sun. Every evening hot air balloons glide past along the river. We were able to sit out every morning for breakfast and also in the evening until late. We were never troubled by flies, mosquitos, or spiders! Beynac has several really nice restaurants which serve delicious food at very reasonable prices. The menus change on a regular basis. The boulangerie sells excellent croissant etc and the little supermarket has a good selection of provisions & plenty of fresh fruit. Visit the Gardens of Marqueyssac with the amazing topiary and much more, plus a very nice restaurant. You can actually see it as you sit out on the balcony. Sarlat is close by and worth a visit, and of course a climb to the top of the hill to visit the Castle. It may be an idea to take some walking shoes/ trainers to tackle the hills! You will be near places to hire a canoe, and can choose the amount of time you want to be out on the river! Or you can take a trip on the boat from just up the road. We did the canoeing for an hour. Going past Beynac on the river gives a perfect view of the whole town from the castle down. We visited Roc Gageac just down the road, but it is not as nice as Beynac and the restaurants are not so good either. You can spend a week in Beynac and have plenty to occupy you without venturing very far afield. It is a lovely area.

Position, Pool, Patio
This property is ideally situated in Beynac with fabulous views from the patio over the Dordogne river, the picture doesn't lie, in fact the pictures don't really do justice to it. The pool is very good and again you can swim with views over the river. The area next to the pool is sheltered and a sun trap even when a little breezy on the patio/balcony. The pool is spotlessly clean but not heated though in late June we found the temperature fine and spent quite a lot of time in it. The house itself has a large lounge/dining/kitchen area with plenty of room. Kitchen has all you need. The bathroom is roomy but the shower is weak though plenty of hot water. Although downstairs the house remains pleasantly cool in hot weather the two bedrooms upstairs, especially the front double, can get hot and we needed the fan. There is a lower floor double with a four poster bed that can only be accessed from outside. Sleep with the windows open and the mosquitoes get you. We sprayed the room an hour before we went to bed and were fine. Judging by the fly sprays previous occupants had left we were not the only ones with the problem. The quality of finishes in the house are adequate not luxury. The house is a short walk to the main village with a number of restaurants though all paths are steep and cobbled. The walk from the garage where you park to the house is rough and steep and not really for those with walking difficulties, you will need to carry your cases. The drive up the hill and into the garage is also quite exciting. We found the beds quite hard and towels a bit basic but overall a great stay. As with all places there are compromises but the pluses definitely outweigh the negatives and would we stay again, you betya

Perfect in every way.
I don't have enough superlative words to describe how much we loved this place. It was everything we imagined and more. It is so much better than the photos. Do not hesitate - book it immediately!! We were staying in this lovely house in a week of 35-41 degrees Celsius so the pool was a godsend. We went out exploring each morning and returned for a late afternoon of swimming. Despite the heat, downstairs was cool and tranquil. Upstairs was warm but there were fans and we all slept incredibly well. The view from the bedroom is so amazing, we could not get enough of it.The village of Beynac is simply beautiful as is the region; and there is so much to do. Canoeing is a must do activity particularly with children. We also visited Gouffre de Padirac, underground caves where you glide along in a boat underground - amazing experience. We couldn't get over how wonderful the food was in this region either - La Petit Tonnelle (the veal special was excellent), La Belle Etoile in La Roque Gageac, O Plaisir de Sens ( just out of La Roque Gageac) were all excellent and reasonably priced. Not that we ate much at home but when we did the kitchen is very well stocked with crockery and also all the basics you might need. Catherine and Manuel were charming and helpful. We are already trying to work out how soon we can return to this beautiful place. We will remember our time there forever. I should note that the village is steep and lugging our suitcases from the car, down the uneven cobbled path and then up the outside and inside staircases was not for the fainthearted but it was so worth it!!!

A beautiful and convenient postion in Beynac
We had a very good week as the weather was beautiful most of the time and the position is amazing. If it was raining the house would perhaps not be so perfect. Beynac is a good position to see all the other local castles and most nights we had 5 or 6 colourful hot air balloons flying over. The wildlife on the river is also a bonus.
