Great location, the view of the river was pretty. Lots of upgrades to this property, was a very pleasant stay and the owner was very responsive to the questions we had.
My friend and I had a great mom’s getaway with my dog at this very CLEAN and quiet property. It has a great view of the Lake and a nice balcony to enjoy the views. The hosts are quick to respond, and available for questions but did not attempt to intrude on our quiet getaway in any way. We have stayed at this property in the past and both stays were great! We would definitely return again. We were just sad the weather didn’t allow us be able to enjoy fun in the water.
This property was perfect for what we needed and very cozy. The owner’s were quick to respond and the living room set-up was great for hanging out. This would be a gorgeous warmer weather place to stay with its great views of the water!
My fiancée and our new dog spent the weekend there. Lovely location and the lake has a beautiful view in the backyard. Would love to book again in the summer to get the full experience
Very nice setting. Owners very nice. I did not know they were on site. Disappointed with all the fees. They were more than the price per night of the cabin. When I arrived I found out I still owed $75 per pet on top of all the other fees I had already paid. Overall it was a very nice stay.

Summer Getaway
Everyone had fun, just wish we had our own pontoon boat. Hard to fish and swim by the shore (a little mucky and some seaweed). Loved having our campfries, making s'mores, and looking at the stars. Nice and private.
This was a very close distance from the city (Chicago) making our travel time with small kids painless. The location, town, everything was so convenient! The kids had a great time running up and down the hill, playing in the water, and even walking up and down the street which was surprisingly low and slow traffic which gave us peace of mind with the kiddos out door. The guest house was clean and well maintained, and was the perfect size for a family of four, but could easily fit a couple more people without being too crowded. Highly recommend!
The cleanliness wasn’t that great. Someone stayed the night before us and I was picking up trash that was pushed under the table. Furniture chair had crumbs on it. The shower had hair from previous stay stuck to the walls, water in shower smelled like pennies and shower head was rusted. The back door also did not lock.
Besides the cleanliness of the place overall it was a peaceful stay on the lake and we enjoyed our time and liked that the place had kayaks available to use! The doggos also enjoyed their stay and love that you guys offer a pet friendly environment
This property was a perfect setup for our family vacation. As a family of 6 and our dog it worked out nicely. The water acess made for lots of fun for the whole family. We ended the days at the water, after we would go and visit nearby towns and beaches. My only negative would be the parking situation, but i understand you have to work with what you have. Other than that it was an amazing stay! Btw if your a coffee drinker the kcup brewer makes a loud poping sound when you put your kcup in it(its great to scare others).
Pretty nice place on a pretty private lake. Lots of water toys! That was a plus. The kitchen is stocked but not as well-stocked with cooking supplies. The binder of things to do was nice but could definitely be updated. Sorry, I know that sounds nit-picky. This really is a good place to do. Plenty of places to go and do things, picking fruit, and hiking/biking. Great lake access.
We stayed for a long weekend. Hosts were very helpful and responded to our questions quickly. We travelled with two adults, two kids (ages 6 & 9) and 1 dog. The space was equipped with everything we needed and the kids loved the room with bunk beds. Our dog had the time of his life out in the water! He swam every day while we kayaked and pedal boated near by. Jenny was a very kind and gracious host. We loved that this location offered us a private waterfront space, but is close (25 min or so) to various public beaches for additional fun! We spent part of each day on Lake Chapin and then chose an adventure nearby for the other part of each day. This location was beautiful and we hope to return.
Great communication from the kind owners.. The only reason I gave it a "Good"(4 stars) instead of "excellent" (5 stars) was that the door to the bathroom didn't close all the way.. making it very uncomfortable for our mixed group of friends to use the toilet since you could see right in. Also the AC was set at 76 but the middle bedroom was freezing cold so I think the temp was off or maybe just the venting is strange. Having said this, the place was really nice and affordable and I'd consider staying again if the bathroom door gets fixed. =) Nice people and beautiful location.
We were very pleased with the remote location and proximity to the water! The hosts were very accessible and helpful when we needed a few minor questions answered. We understood thru the listing that this ‘Cabin’ was attached to a main home/dwelling so we were anticipating shared walls- no problem there at all! We were not happy with the cleanliness of the kitchen and main living area. Refrigerator and freezer were crumb and fingerprint ridden. Crumbs also all over the main hardwoods in the kitchen/main living. It just didn’t feel like it had been deep cleaned for a vacation rental, it seemed more like we were staying at our family’s home and they had cleaned out the bedroom for us, but hadn’t really thoroughly cleaned or sanitized for renters who were not family. All of the switches for the lights and remotes need a wipe down after every rental- could see/feel grime on both. Bedrooms were better.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were very warm and friendly. The house was perfect for our family of four. Access to lake with kayaks and fire pit for use. The beds were super comfy and our kids loved that there weee 3 options for them to sleep. My husband loved having a lazy boy for late night movies. Beautiful view off the deck! Jenny and William had laundry detergent available and little offerings like bug spray and an ice maker...little things that went a long way. Absolutely had a wonderful full week there and felt like home! Thank you for the great memories . Location wise, this is a 10/10 with a 15-20 min drive to great restaurants amd very close to St.Joe.
Highly recommend Anemel and Bread + Bar for dining out nearby!
This home is well kept, clean and right on Lake Chapin. It's a great location and just minutes from town and 20 minutes or so to the beach. We will stay here again when visiting!
Great house, great property! Stayed with our teenage children and their friends. They had a fabulous time! They really enjoyed the paddle boat and kayaks. The house is on a beautiful lot with easy lake access and natural surroundings. The house was adorable and very clean and well taken care of. It was a 10/10 for us!
Property was as advertised. 30 minutes from St Joe's proper. We were fine w the drive to "everything" cuz it gave the Lils time to power nap, but just FYI for ypir expectations. This rental isn't "on the beach". Think of it as your gem in the woods! Loved having a lil home to ourselves for our family vs a small hotel room. We got to bring our dog- a Great Pyr mix- along, plus MIL & we all fit comfortably in the house. (3 adults, 2 kids - ages 3&9, plus dog). Shower was nice & big, great for helping lil kid bathe. We didn't get to enjoy the kayaks or paddle board due to just being inexperienced. But we did walk along the water- dog loved it! Really enjoyed the deck off the bedroom- so relaxing and peaceful. Nice, quiet neighborhood to walk but be warned it's country road not sidewalks. Peaceful. Thanks for the stay!
We had a nice, quiet 4 th of July here with friends. We took full advantage of the fire pit down by the lake. Such a pretty setting. Would recommend for a quick getaway!
