Very Private Seaside Getaway - Excellent WiFi for Remote Work - Lots to Explore

Strong Wifi. Seclusion. Fabulous oceanfront setting. Nothing beats a seaside cottage for a change of scene in summer. Convenient to all Acadia has to offer, or just enjoy the sparkling view out your window across the very private cove out to green-blue islands and to open ocean beyond. There’s plenty to do inside, as well, with games, puzzles, books, and an oversized screened-in porch that maximizes that spectacular view in comfort. Idyllic.

We make cleanliness a priority. We’re committed to providing you a safe and enjoyable vacation experience. Cove’s Edge Seaside Cottage is cleaned and sanitized at every turnover to new industry standards so you can enjoy both comfort and peace of mind. Welcome!

Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage offers you an opportunity to sample all that Acadia National Park has to offer. You can enjoy lobster, chowder, dining out, boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, ocean and freshwater swimming, hiking, walking, bicycling, blueberry picking, birding, garden touring, shopping in quaint boutiques, and more -- or just get some quiet relaxation and reading time. You are surrounded by gorgeous ocean views that you can enjoy from nearly every room in the house. And you are steps away from your own private stretch of beach, where you can enjoy the view out to Maine's famous island-dotted shore, with the Nature Conservancy's Placentia Island in the distance, and Swan's Island just beyond. Every bedroom has an en suite bath. You are less than five minutes' drive from the Acadia National Park trails called Wonderland and Ship's Harbor, which bring you out to gorgeous rocky bluffs along the open ocean and Maine's famous rocky coast. A minute more and you're at Bass Harbor Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse on the U.S. East Coast. In five minutes you’re in Southwest Harbor with ample opportunities for shopping, dining, and boating; in two more minutes you’re hiking Acadia Mountain or swimming in Echo Lake; and in ten minutes you're in Bar Harbor, with its quaint shops, restaurants, whale watching, naturalist boating, sailing, deep-sea diving, Park tours, and many other opportunities.

Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath house right on the water with your own access to a private stretch of pebbled shore, with expansive views of the cove, islands, and open ocean beyond. It has a game room and a relaxing patio in addition to living, kitchen, and dining rooms with high-end, custom finishes in this architect-designed home. It is well suited to accommodate multiple generations or a small group of friends, where you can both enjoy common rooms as well as preserve your privacy. Two separate guests may be staying in the tiny artist's studio in the back yard who do not share your amenities.

Few locations in the United States can compare to the beauty and diversity of Mt. Desert Island (MDI) and Acadia National Park. Acadia National Park and its famous gateway towns are treasured the world over as some of the most beautiful spots “where the mountains meet the sea.” Ocean, lakes, mountains, miles and miles of hiking trails, dedicated bicycling and walking trails, gorgeous countryside, and the towns of Tremont, Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Bar Harbor provide unlimited opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Come for some much-needed rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation at Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage!

Family vacation
My husband and I have been enjoying MDI in September for years and we wanted to bring our adult sons! We love being on the quiet side although it does add to the driving time for some of the activities. This house has a great kitchen and the screened porch is wonderful! We loved the easy access to the rocky beach and enjoyed walking down there at low tide!

Beautiful sea side cottage
Great location- private-plenty of room for the 5 people we had. Only negative was the living room furniture was stiff- and if you came in summer no AC might be a issue- but the weather was perfect for our stay- we needed no heat or AC

Perfect getaway
Wonderful home on a beautiful cove. Very peaceful and quiet but close to SW Harbor, boating, good food, hikes and lighthouse. About 30 min to Bar Harbor and main park attractions but that didn't bother us st all. Easy drive. Preferred the quiet spot vs park/Bar Harbor crowds. Highly recommend

Wonderful views
We had a lovely week away at Cove’s Edge. The water views outside the dining room window and screened porch were stunning. Our teenagers enjoyed paddle boarding in the cove. The home is well-designed with great flow and comfortable spaces. We really enjoyed Bass Harbor, including Thurston’s for lobster and a fantastic afternoon doing the nature cruise through Island Cruises.

Unspoiled Maine minutes to Acadia
Had a wonderful visit to Cove’s Edge with our family. The house is on a beautiful part of the Maine Coast away from some of the busier parts of Acadia but with easy access to them. There are beautiful views of Duck Cove from many windows and a short flight of steps to the shore with great access for kayaks at high tide. Highly recommended!

The quiet side of the island
Great location on 'the quiet side of the island'. Close enough to all the sights of MDI, but without the crowds. The house is right on the cove with a great view of the water. There's plenty of room for a family with a large screened porch and a smaller deck off the kitchen. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the hosts were very helpful, responsive and communicative. Well worth a visit!

Lovely Acadia Trip
Thank you for a great week! We loved the view from your home and had everything we needed. The hosts were very helpful and answered all of our questions before we arrived. We rented kayaks from Scotty’s Kayaks and enjoyed paddling in the cove. We had plenty of space and the property was clean and well cared for. Everything was perfect- thanks again!

Wonderful vacation
Having never traveled to Maine before, we were not sure what to expect. The house, amenities, and property exceeded our expectations and allowed for some much needed down time. Thurston's Lobster Pound was minutes away and was enjoyed nearly every night for dinner. The drive to Bar Harbor and the scenic views was relatively short, so it was no problem that house was not in the middle of everything. I have already recommended this vacation destination to some friends.

Wonderful Stay!
Our stay at Cove's Edge was fabulous! The house is GORGEOUS! We absolutely loved relaxing in the roomy and comfortable screen porch. The cove is so quiet and private and it was nice to be away from all the crowds in Bar Harbor. It was an easy and scenic drive to do all that we wanted to do in Acadia. Joy was extremely responsive and very pleasant to work with. I would absolutely stay here again! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! Highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay near Acadia.

We're already talking about our next trip back to Seal Cove
The cottage on seal cove was super quiet and very clean. I real nice place to stay. Everything we needed and expected was there. We wish we could have stayed longer and would come back in a heartbeat. We did run into a little issue with being there after Columbus Day, which seems to be the semi-official end of the season. We had some trouble finding restaurants closed in the smaller communities (not Bar Harbor).

Serene environment
What a wonderful stay! The home is perfectly situated and well-appointed with everything you could need for a beautiful getaway. Joy was communicative when I first messaged her about my interest, and was available by text when a question arose as well. The home is on a small inlet so you have the opportunity to enjoy calm tides and shallow water each day. Our 1 year old enjoyed sitting down in the water and splashing around with some shells. Highly recommend - book your stay now!

We had a lovely week enjoying the beauty of the Cove. We enjoyed just taking in the beauty, the sea air (and fog!) and the wildlife. The house is comfortable and very well stocked. The kitchen is lovely and much better than a typical rental. We’re cooks so we appreciate that:). Joy was completely available and easy to chat with. Lots of quiet corners for a little soace for everyone.

Away from it all
Having been to MDI several times, we wanted to try the quieter side of the island. The Tremont location is a quiet location but we discovered some new favorite walks close by. The house is lovely - you could do as much or as little as you want. A base to see the island or you can sit in the screened porch and relax. Great WiFi for our WFH daughter. House had everything, communicative host and we’d easily return if we have the opportunity.

Peaceful, comfortable, and private.
The house was spacious enough for everyone to have their own area. The kids loved the ping pong table downstairs and screened in porch was a favorite for me. The yard is gorgeous with mature plants and the house is tucked behind some trees away from the road so it was quite private. The area is very rural but there are a lot of nearby hidden gems. Make sure you check out the Quietside Snacks, a little food truck right on Tremont Rd, just a couple of miles away. And the Bass Harbor lighthouse is only 5 miles down the road, too.

Great secluded Maine experience
Our family loved staying in Duck Cove! The house provided ample space for our family to spread out and have their own space. The house was well stocked for travelers - Joy and Peter thought of most things a traveler would need. The house was clean, neat and well cared for. It was quiet and secluded which is nice after a spending time in the busy streets of Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the yard, beach/cove area, and grill (we grilled our “catch” after a day of fishing and other meals). It is close to Bass Harbor and Southwest Harbor which provides all the necessities (groceries, restaurants (Beal’s vs Thurston’s), and shopping. Thank you Joy and Peter for making sure our every need was addressed. Great stay!!! We would definitely stay here again!!

Quaint and Quiet - Beautiful Views!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Maine while staying at Cove's Edge Cottage. The grounds are beautifully kept and the gardener did a great job with all of the colorful flowers and landscaping. Inside was clean, had everything we needed and more. The kids loved the downstairs playroom and we appreciated that the internet/wifi was working throughout our stay and was strong enough for my husband to do some work. Having the washer and dryer was key for us as well. The view from the house was amazing and we enjoyed having access to the water below in Duck Cove. IGA Foodmart was close and we enjoyed Thurston's Lobster Pound and Beal's Lobster Pier for a nearby place to dine out. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to stay again in our next trip to Maine!
