"An excellent choice. Right by the canal, to spend many happy hours just watching the boats go by. There were only two of us, so plenty of room. Very well equipped for a self catering holiday. Bedrooms are huge, as are the beds, which were very comfortable. Shower rooms large and super clean. Welcome pack amazing, and further items during our stay. "We had a wonderful stay here, the place is centrally located amongst the vineyards. The settings is private and well appointed. We laid out at night on the loungers watching the stars. As it is located in the countryside the night sky was an amazing display of bright stars. Easy drive to Carcassonne or the Mediterranean. The town of la liviniare is close 5min drive with two restaurants. The host was welcoming and helpful on things to do in the region. We enjoyed our stay and would come again."

About 15 mins drive from pretty Olargues. Le Chene backs on to another gite and when this was occupied, we could hear everything they were doing. "First off, the woman who opened up the villa was extremely rude and only showed my daughter in law around the villa, insisting everyone else should wait outside. Afer 15 minutes, I'd had enough and went in telling this lady we were coming in. Added to this, the smoke alarms throughout the villa did not work, and as there was no way of securing the separate apartments, we had to close the metal shutters at night. With no smoke alarms, this is unbelievably dangerous. The facilities were adequate...
