Bluebird Day - Smokestack River House

Welcome to the Smokestack River House! This luxury riverfront property boasts panoramic views of the Deschutes River and the Old Mill District. Step out to the river trail/bike path for a short walk or ride to the shops at the Old Mill and the Les Schwab amphitheater or simply enjoy the scenic trail along the river.

This three story home features upscale furnishings, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen featuring stainless appliances, a gas fireplace in the living room, and a beautiful patio equipped with seating and a BBQ so you can enjoy dinner in the heart of Bend with a beautiful view of the river.

The Smokestack River House has three suites, three bathrooms and can sleep up to 6 guests, making it the perfect location for couples or even groups to come and stay! One suite is located on the lower level with its own private TV room, wet bar and riverfront patio. The master suite with a gloriously large bathroom and second guest suite are located on the upper level.

Grab a kayak, paddle board or inner tube and step right outside to float the river or hop on a cruiser bike and ride through the beautiful Old Mill District neighborhoods. Downtown Bend filled with its many shops, restaurants, and breweries is also just a short bike ride or drive away. 

If you prefer to get out of town and into nature, the Mount Bachelor Ski Resort is an easy 25 minute drive from Bend. This mountain is a blast, with a wide variety of biking trails in the warmer seasons and skiing or snowboarding options in the winter, Mount Bachelor is a highly enjoyable destination.

Fabulous house and location
This was a perfect spot for our first time visiting Bend. The river is beautiful, tons of walking opportunities and places to visit. We loved walking around Old Mill and downtown. I would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful Venue
A fantastic location, great view, and perfect location for a combination of hiking in the morning and walking to breweries in the afternoon. House was clean, had all needed amenities, and in great shape. I actually looked to see if I could book it again later in the year, but unfortunately it was already booked for the time I wanted. If it is available, I will be booking this place again next year.

Incredible Views in Bend
Perfectly located on the river trail and the bustling Old Mill District, this lovely townhouse is large and comfortable. The home has fantastic views of the river, snow covered mountains to the left and the walking path along the Deschutes! Easily walk into town or go the other direction and follow the river through the forest. Home is well equipped and comfortable (especially the master’s king bed! Would absolutely stay here again!

The property was absolutely perfect for our family of 6, plenty of space for everyone to sleep and hangout, great balconies, all essentials provided, the location was phenomenal…in the old mail area, with miles of walking and biking paths up and down the river (right out the door), great shopping area, coffee shops and restaurants a very short walk away….plus it overlooked the river which had constant activity and was so fun to sit and watch. We had such an awesome time, it was the most favorite place we’ve ever rented.

Excellent working/vacation time away
Coming to Bend has become an annual tradition during the summer. This trip to get away and work someplace different was fantastic. The home was in an ideal location and quiet even being on the river and walking path. Everything was clean and orderly. The paper goods were very well stocked which isn't always the case with some rentals. The patio off the main floor was very nice and having the propane fireplace made it very enjoyable. The downstairs patio was okay, but not as welcoming. I really enjoyed watching the ducks, geese and beavers from the patio and kitchen window. Rental company was very responsive a d we had not issues with them at all. I would highly recommend this property and it would be ideal for two families and a few kids.

Great riverfront location
A group of friends stayed here for Thanksgiving weekend. The location is convenient and walkable to the Old Mill District and the views to the river and mountains are awesome. This property was nice for three couples as we all had our own private space with 2 king ensuites, but the queen bedroom on the bottom level could be considered an entire suite with its own living space. What could potentially make this better is if there were more side chairs in the living room for gathering. In warmer months, the outdoor space could help extend the seating options. We did have an issue with our oven (that did not heat beyond a certain temperature or shut off) and could have been an issue if we were cooking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I called the management office the next day and they offered to send someone out, but I declined as we could get by without it. The microwave oven functions as a small convection oven. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. It would also be nice to stay here in summer as the the float drop in area is nearby down the river path.

Everything was great. We have stayed here before and loved it. Only thing to mention is a few things need attention-the bikes, replace patio cushions, toaster needs replacing, remove chipped glasses. We would happily stay here again.

Love the view of the river. The location is perfect. Easy access to the walking trail along the river. Three bedrooms and 3.5 baths allowed us each space to relax.

Location, location, location! This beautiful condo was in the heart of Bend with everything we wanted to do within walking distance from the front door. We even got to listen to Sammy Hagar from the balcony! Slept 6 adults comfortably and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay at this River Front home
We had an excellent 7 day vacation at this river front home in the old Mill District area. Great views of the Deschutes river and mountain range, including Broken Top, and 3 Sisters Mtns. Luxury accommodations including a fully equipped kitchen with amazing views. The home is exactly as listed and as photographed. Convenient features, included four bikes in the garage, several Rafts with electric powered inflator in the garage, and a propane barbecue on the patio. Right next to Farewell bend park, which provided a playground, and large grassy area with plenty of shaded areas. Enjoyed hearing the music from the concerts at Hayden Holmes amphitheater across the river, when sitting out on the balconies and porches. Music cannot be heard once sitting inside. Short walk to the old Mill District, where there are many restaurants, shops, movie theaters. The beds and linens were high-quality and very comfortable.. Would be better if the 1st floor bedroom had a dresser for more folded clothing storage, it’s closet was full size. We will definitely stay at this home again.

Details not attended to. Coffee machine broken, no propane for BBQ or fire table, cobwebs all over. Ratty towels. Harassed by residents for parking in GUEST parking!! Very expensive for mediocre stay.
