Clam Cottage is located on the south side of Clam Lake, midway between Torch Lake and Grass River. It offers 2 bedrooms and a 3/4 bath. Sleeps 4. This is a rustic cottage is great for a couple or fishermen. Perfect if you have a boat, bring it! If you don't, no problem! There are several marinas in the immediate area that rent all types of watercraft. There is a dock to tie up to and from Clam Lake you have access to the 60 miles of waterways that make up the Lower Chain of Lakes, consisting of Torch Lake, Elk Lake, Lake Bellaire, Lake Skegemog and more!
Besides enjoying the beautiful lakes, there's a lot more to see and do in the area! Save time to visit the local towns of Alden, Bellaire and Elk Rapids, where you'll enjoy exploring unique, locally owned shops, casual or fine dining, wine tasting and craft breweries. The quaint town of Alden features a small marina where you can dock your boat. Stroll into town and visit the many one-of-a-kind shops like Nifty Things, Carter's Candles and The Pear Tree. Enjoy excellent muffins, a light breakfast or lunch at the Muffin Tin, hand-dipped ice cream at the Lakeside Dip or Higgins Store, dining at the Torch Lake Beer Company, a tasting room at Vista Ridge Winery (featuring locally produced wine) and many wonderful shops like the Alden Mill House for a large selection of kitchen gadgets, fresh spices, and spice blends. Venture to Bellaire, home of Shanty Creek Resort and Schuss Mountain for world-class golf, skiing and fine dining overlooking Lake Bellaire. Check out the award-winning Short's Brewery, taste Meade at Bell Well Meadery, have a glass of wine at Hello Vino, (the gals there are very friendly and helpful), or sip some locally distilled liquor at Mammoth Distillery. To the west is Elk Rapids, a harbor town nestled between Grand Traverse Bay and Elk Lake. Here you'll find a beautiful public beach and park, as well as waterfront dining and shopping. Further west, you'll find Traverse City, 45 minutes away and home of the National Cherry Festival as well as the Traverse City Film Festival. Or ... keep going west, and visit award-winning Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, once voted the "Most Beautiful Place in America" by Good Morning America. More adventure awaits to the north of the condo, 1 1/2 hours away you'll discover the Mackinac Bridge leading you to the untamed Upper Peninsula. Or, catch a ferry to Mackinac Island and visit the Grand Hotel, explore shopping and dining in the quaint town, visit historic Fort Mackinac, or rent bikes and ride the 8-mile shoreline circumference of the island. Not into biking? Catch a ride on a horse-drawn carriage, because no cars are allowed on the island!
Clam Cottage is reasonably priced and this allows you to sight see around the area without breaking the bank. Whatever you decide to do while in the area, one thing is certain, you won't want to leave.
