Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Still room for improvement.
The house is located in a family-friendly neighborhood, just 6 minutes from the bus stop, about 30 minutes from downtown by bus, and 11 minutes by car. The parking is off-street, which is convenient. However, when we first opened the door, we were hit by a strong musty odor that was so unpleasant we had to buy an air freshener right away. While the house appeared generally clean, the bathtub had visible mold stains on the walls. The living room was comfortable enough, though the TV was small and, unfortunately, not a smart TV, so we couldn’t use our Netflix account. The kitchen had the basic utensils needed for simple breakfasts and dinners.
The biggest issue was the bed. The double bed was a nightmare to sleep on—the mattress is completely worn out, and the pillows were awful. I also found some sheets stuffed into a drawer in the bedroom dresser, but I couldn’t tell if they were clean or dirty. I was planning to use that drawer for my makeup, but I quickly changed my mind.
Additionally, it would be convenient if they provided soap and shampoo in the bathroom, as these essentials were missing. In my opinion, the bed is the most important aspect of a rental, and this place failed miserably. The garden didn’t have a single chair, so enjoying the outdoors wasn’t an option. Lastly, the stairs are extremely steep, making them unsuitable for young children or elderly guests.
Overall, the house has potential but falls short in key areas that significantly impacted our stay.
