"Location was perfect, able to walk to all main sites, hotel just off main market square and canal with boat trips 1 min away. Staff at hotel excellent. Only minus if staying in guest house is there are no lifts and two flights of stairs but rooms are lovely."

"Good location, nice clean property with modern furniture and beds. However, we were disappointed that the owners never contacted us prior to arriving, despite being told we would receive the code. The number listed on the Hotels.com is out of service. We managed to contact one owner by finding a phone number on another website. Not a great check-in system-this needs to be revamped before we can recommend."

We had plenty of space in our room and even had a smaller room joining in which we kept our luggage and our travel cot when our baby napped. The host was lovely and so helpful. "I was not expecting a code-style reception at "A Flemish Tale. To me, an in-person reception check-in is essential for a traveler overseas like me. Thankfully, I was waiting downstairs at least 2 hours before my "check-in time" at 3:00 p.m., so that I was able to meet, totally by chance, the lady in charge at the entrance. But for this, I would not have been able to get my access code. Imagine how scary it was! "

She made excellent recommendations for us to see Brugge in a non-touristy way, and was so genuine and sweet to us.
