"We loved our stay at Effect Lodge. Our room overlooked the back side of the property, including the pool. Great views and an open feel in our large room. The host was so gracious and helpful. She recommended public transportation for our visit to Old Lyon, and it worked out perfectly. She also provided direction in getting our laundry taken care of. In many ways, staying at Effect felt like being at home. Highly recommend this property!"

"A unique property with a lovely family run feel. The family room had 3 single beds in an adjoining room, the rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast was bread, cereal, cake, juice and coffee. The room was quiet and I had a really great nights sleep. "

Le repas était délicieux, bien préparé et copieux, tout comme le petit déjeuner qui nous a bien régalés pour démarrer la journée. "Upon arrival, we were told to open the large gates leading up to the driveway of the house. The gates were what I can only describe as something you would see at a 'haunted' house in really poor condition. Our first impressions were not great as the accommodation appeared very old and run down. As we approached the house, the ground were extremely unkempt: overgrown, unclean pool and the tennis court area had seen better days. As we opened the main door, we noticed the wallpaper in the hallway...

"This is a beautiful old chateaux-style building, which is owned and run by the family who live there. Sandrine and Frank are both excellent hosts and very friendly and welcoming. The location a beautiful country setting, next to vineyards. It is around 5 miles from the nearest large town. We decided to go out for the evening to the local town and Sandrine was so helpful in booking us a taxi and restaurant. One small tip - if you go into town it is best to drive yourself as the taxis are...
