Historic Home in the Heart of Downtown Beaufort's 'Old Point'

4 bedroom historic home in the heart of Downtown Beaufort.

This 4 bedroom, 3 bath historic home sits in the heart of Downtown Beaufort's prestigious 'Old Point'. Built in the late 1800's, this house is part of Beaufort's history, and is only 3 short blocks from the Waterfront Park, as well as shopping, art galleries, restaurants and attractions of downtown. If you stay at 608 North Street, you will be in the perfect location to experience the best of Beaufort.

The home has been completely restored with a fully equipped kitchen, limestone tile, heart pine floors, new stainless steel appliances, and impressive antiques from Bali and Indonesia. The large master suite features a king bed, private bathroom with whirlpool tub, and a private sitting area. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has a king and single bed. The 3rd upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, and one queen bed. The 4th bedroom downstairs has a king bed. Wireless internet and cable TV are included.

Three large porches provide great spots to admire the beautiful low country scenery and watch the horse drawn carriage rides pass. A short walk is Beaufort's newly renovated Waterfront Park, complete with a playground, which provides the perfect location for an afternoon of enjoyment.

Hunting Island State Park and public boat ramps are all easily accessible, and Charleston, Hilton Head, or Savannah are close enough for day trips.

Staying at 608 North Street will truly be an experience that cannot be matched by a hotel, condo, or any other rental home.

While this home has been completely renovated, if you are someone who is expecting new, flawless construction and prefers a hotel room or suite over a historic property, this is probably not the home for you. This house was built almost 200 years ago, and it does have imperfections that are typical of historic homes in the Beaufort and Charleston areas. We think these imperfections are what makes the home special.

Perfect family wedding, perfect house
We loved this house! It was perfect for us. We had plenty of room, the location was amazing, and it felt like home! When we had questions, the owners were quick to respond and take care of our concerns. The back yard was a mood all by itself and we loved sitting out back in the morning with coffee and conversation. Thank you for a great SC experience!

"Girls" Trip
I live here in beautiful Beaufort but could not accommodate 9 of my dear college friends. This house on the Old Point was perfect for 10 ladies in their 70's. Large kitchen, dining, and gathering room - not to mention the porches. Comfy beds for all and plenty of parking. The location was fabulous. The host answered all our questions promptly. Highly recommend for visitors to our special town!

There were 7 of us on our girls trip to Beaufort. We were celebrating 30 years playing “Bunco” together! The property was perfect! Everyone had plenty of room, the location was great-short walk to downtown, beautiful home and the host was so prompt and helpful when we had a question. We all would definitely visit again! Thank you for such a great experience!

Birthday weekend.
Perfect location. We could walk to shops and restaurants. The house and furnishings are very attractive, and it has been made as comfortable as possible without a major renovation. Everything we needed was there. A few suggestions: for past vacation rentals I have been given a number I could call before arriving, in case there were any problems. For example: all our designated parking spaces were occupied, and we had to find out who was using them. Also, prior notice of where to find information about the house, appliances, etc., would have been helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and I would rent the house again.

Our Son’s Wedding Destination
Truly lovely, modern functionality, fully accomodating for our needs. It was the perfect home for us during this time, beautiful period furnishings, great gathering spaces but abundant privacy as well. Walkable for most of our needs. Gorgeous quiet neighborhood. It was a little warm on our last night upstairs. Otherwise everything we needed and more.

Amazing location
We booked this home for a 4 day girls trip. The location was perfect for walking to all the activities, architecture, restaurants & shopping that Beaufort has to offer. The home has plenty of space to spread out or come together, accommodating everyone’s routine. The upstairs bedrooms have some odd layouts if privacy is a huge concern but the space is maximized to allow for additional guests. Perhaps a schematic floor plan in the listing would help visitors know what to expect. The home is well kept and preserves the history of the architecture with updated comforts of today’s standards. The owners were quick to respond with questions. We would definitely stay here again. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this quaint town in the heart of it all in this home.

Wonderful and relaxing stay
We had an amazing time in this wonderful home located in an idyllic spot in Beaufort SC. The owners were easy to work with and readily available; although, everything worked exactly as advertised. Previous reviews noted the bathroom locations were a bit odd, however, we did t find them to be unusual at all. Especially when you consider the owners decorated the home to maximize the numbers of people that may be accommodated. We are very grateful for a wonderful place to stay for our sons wedding. Thanks to the Christmas’!!

Wonderful location
This home is centrally located in the historic district of Beaufort. It is an easy walk to downtown and is convenient to area restaurants and bars. The home itself is in great condition despite its age. The bathroom layouts are a little quirky but keep in mind this is an old home. In some cases, you need to walk through a bedroom to get to the bathroom. The outdoor areas are wonderful, the porches are also amazing. The owners are prompt in their replies to concerns, booking, questions...... This is a wonderful home for a group! I'd recommend it.

Historic Home in Beaufort's Old Point
Great place for a family gathering. Location is ideal for many and diverse interests. A little of everything is readily available. Shopping, restaurants, state parks, beaches, fishing, history, tours, etc all nearby. As experienced renters, very disappointed in the cleanliness throughout house. It did not meet basic cleanliness standards. Sheets and towels require replacement.............some frayed, stained, and with holes. Wonderful house that can and should be improved as a rental.

Marine graduation
This house was fantastic for a Marine graduation from Parris Island. We had a large group and we all fit comfortably. The drive to Parris Island was about 10 minutes. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, so we could chill out at the place before all of the festivities for the graduation. The beds were comfortable. The house has plenty of old details to go along with the updates that makes it a great find. We would definitely consider staying here again if we find ourselves heading to that area. The property manager was fantastic at answering questions, and recommended a fantastic grocery store.

Renters beware
Three ladyfriends rented this home for 4 days in September. We arrived 2 hours later than check-in time to find two men folding towels and linens. The interior of the home was very dark with all of the blinds and drapes drawn. We had to put our own sheets on the bed and had to search through many messy cabinets to find some pillowcases--nothing matched. We were unable to open windows or doors to enjoy the fresh air since there were no screens anywhere. The outdoor furniture was very musty smelling and the tables hadn't been cleaned which made it unpleasant to sit on the porches. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and felt that the present condition did not match either the pictures or the description of the home. After returning home, all 3 of us had bites on our ankles and feet that looked and felt like flea bites.

Great location, not so great otherwise
The location of this house can't be beat. The immediate neighborhood is the best in Beaufort, great old homes and very convenient to everything downtown. This is a great old home, with updated kitchen and bathrooms; however there was a lot to be desired. I echo a prior reviewer who said the house could use a good deep clean. Lots of dust, and some furniture that has gone past the point of well-worn. Nothing like having to retrieve a baby's pacifier from under a bed and discovering the batting from the boxspring to be hanging to the floor and covered in dust bunnies. We even found a stranger's underwear on the floor (we think it shook out from the sheets or comforter when we made the bed). Electricity is tricky in old homes, but there were some scary provisions made, such as an extension cord that sparked and another that was way overloaded with gear for the television. The courtyard/patio hadn't been raked in a while and outdoor furniture was in rough shape, without cushions. Also, if you rent, keep in mind that you will need to bring everything, from trash bags to coffee filters to hand soap. I usually rely on there being some basics left from prior renters, but at this home it seems stuff like that must be cleared out between guests. In sum, there is a lot of potential here. Hopefully our timing was just bad and there's a little more attention to detail in the high season.
