Welcome to this newly renovated 3 bedroom/1bath 1st floor condo with deck in a 2 family house. Enjoy outdoor shower and private off street parking within a block and half to beach and bay. LBI is a beautiful island which home Barnegat Lighthouse Stste park and several mini golds, arcades, restaurants, amusement parks within couple miles. Something fir everyone. Any damage done to the property or furniture will be deducted automatically from your credit card. Please be responsible thank you and enjoy your beach vacation please bring your towels

High price for what you get
Great location for beach access. There were a few safety issues - 1- the loose patio board that we all tripped over several times all week. The back door (this is main entrance ) threshold was unsecured and loose. We kept having to put back in place so we didn’t trip. The kitchen rug we tripped over that all week as it was all wrinkled up. Under the sink cabinet was filthy and that is where the tiny trash can was. Also keep in mind there were no trash bags left in the condo so u have to buy those. We also wanted to cook at least one night but there was no colander for the pasta. Also as I reported to host, the toaster was not there. The rug in the master bedroom was dirty and stained. Keep in mind the master bedroom is literally on LONG BEACH BOULEVARD so the noise was awful. Bring a noise machine or a loud fan to drown the noise out. The back rooms were fine noise wise. Couldn’t even use outdoor shower as it was FULL of kids toys , beach chairs, etc. should not be advertised as having outdoor shower if the tenant is going to have to take time and effort to remove all the stuff then have to put it back. So We couldn’t even use the outside shower. This was very upsetting. All we wanted to do was relax and enjoy the vacation!

The complaints in the other reviews are accurate. When first entering the unit, we were assaulted by the smell of cat spray. The unit was not cleaned at all. All surfaces have a greasy film -- counters, stove, refrigerator, etc. The refrigerator interior had not been cleaned. The glass plate in the microwave is gone and has been replaced with a regular kitchen plate that doesn’t spin. There are multiple trip hazards entering the unit. Decking boards are loose and at uneven elevations, the threshold under the door moves and falls off when opening the door. The lamps inside the unit are broken at the light socket, so when you reach up to turn on the switch, your fingertips are exposed to unprotected wiring and electrical contacts, which are hidden by the lampshade. We had to tell our children not to touch them. The outdoor shower was filled with kids’ toys; all holding stagnant water. We couldn’t use it. There was an outdoor faucet that didn’t work; leaving us with no way to clean sand off our feet. The outdoor grill was in 7 pieces. Since we were unable to grill, we had to make other arrangements and incurred extra cost for most of our meals even though we had provisioned to cook at the home. The bathroom door catches in the door frame because the house is settling. A small child would have trouble opening it and could get stuck inside. We’ve been coming to LBI for 20 years. This place is lacking all the necessities one would come to expect when renting a beach house for the week. Salt, pepper, sugar, garbage bags and cleaning products are all absent. There isn’t even a garbage can in the kitchen. All of my contact with the “host” resulted in her suggesting we should leave for a refund if we weren’t happy. No attempts were made to address any of our concerns. Moving was not an option for us as it was one of the busiest summer weeks of the year. Had there been other options, we would have left within hours of our arrival. Renters in this predicament are not protected from hosts who act in bad faith. This was our first and last experience with VRBO. We wasted hours of our precious vacation time dealing with these issues; contacting the host and VRBO. In the future, as we did with our past rentals, we will only use a licensed Realtor. Realtors swear an oath to tell the truth. They also have an obligation to accurately describe their listings and treat everyone fairly. Keep looking, your search for a beach house is not finished here.

Great location, but property needs improvement
We just left from a great week in LBI. The weather was picture perfect. You can’t beat the location, it’s a short block and half to the beach. There is off-street parking for one vehicle, which makes unloading and loading the car nice and easy. The house was relatively “clean” when we arrived, other than the “stuff” in the drawers and closets. We did, however, discover that the oven had obviously not been looked at prior to our arrival. It was very dirty and there was an actual stuffed shell on the bottom of the oven. I didn’t notice it when I turned the oven on to preheat so that was interesting. We’ve stayed in many rentals, and it’s nice to include some information to the guests, such as garbage instructions, Wi-Fi password, etc. Several of the issues mentioned in prior reviews have been resolved, but there are still some safety concerns that should be addressed. The back entrance (which is the main entrance) only has a flimsy doorknob lock. The deadbolt does not work. The outdoor light also does not work. The little utility room when you enter is great for leaving beach stuff, and there is a small washer and dryer. The front door, however, could not be opened. This seems like a fire hazard to me, especially with the utilities and kitchen being at the back entrance. There were also broken lamps all over the front steps and the grass is terribly overgrown and unkept. The bathroom was fine, but the door does not easily close, it needs to be adjusted. There were entirely too many random lamps everywhere that are unnecessary. There are no dressers in the two smaller bedrooms and the closets were filled with “stuff”. All furniture and decor needs to be updated. There is a sharp metal piece sticking out the back top corner of one of the living room chairs. The kitchen has limited items for use. There is no toaster. We brought our own coffee maker, but there was a small coffee pot and keurig available. I had to buy a colander and knives for us to use. I also bought plastic utensils because there were barely enough utensils for our family of 5 to eat together. The Wifi and internet service is somewhat spotty. Bring your own pillows bc there are very few and they are not very good. The host graciously allowed us to bring our dogs, which we are very appreciative of. It would be nice to have beach badges provided, but we purchased our own for the week which was fine. Overall, we had a terrific week but believe the property could use a little work.
