A real old time Maine camp on the water
This was just what we were looking for. Rustic, nothing fancy, but had some modern amenities. The most beautiful sunset was a bonus.

House was unsafe and misrepresented
You should not be representing this property or Vacasa as a company. The house was dangerous. Broken windows and fixtures, mold and mildew all over, and holes in the walls.

Peaceful retreat
The front porch is wonderful, beautiful views, nice breeze , great place to hang and relax. We thought the shower might need a re-do and the steps from house going down to the dock as well.

Lovely views, period and setting atmospheric, good choice
We enjoyed our stay and found the owners provided numerous little helpful extras. The only somewhat significant challenge is the recurring 31 stairs' climb, but the reward is a great view.

Fantastic Sun sets
Great screened in porch to enjoy the sunsets. Or you can take them in from the dock. House itself has been well loved over the years and is comfortable enough for our long weekend.

Disgusting clogged and leaking shower
I’d like the homeowner to know that my family are currently trying to work with Vacasa to rectify the lack of a usable shower for the first day/night of our stay. I am being told that the shower was not in fact leaking because I shouldn’t have aimed the shower head at the door. I did not. On our first night I went to shower one of our young boys and within a few minutes the entire bathroom floor was close to an inch deep in leaking water. I stopped the shower immediately and contacted Vacasa. No one else was able to shower that evening or the next morning. This is completely unacceptable given the cost of booking this place. The following day I was told that a representative checked the shower and it did not leak. Here’s why - my husband lifted up the wooden shower mat and found an enormous clump of hair and debris stuck in the drain. It had clearly not been cleaned. When the shower ran, the water built up in the shower base, and began to leak out at the floor, not through the shower doors. It is likely there is a crack or insufficient calking at the shower pan, and judging by the wet wood and peeling paint on the floor this is not a new problem. If this was my house I would get the shower base replaced before the water damage wrecks the floor. I have reached out to Vacasa and asked for a partial refund for our first night since we had a house with no way of bathing. I am being told that they will not work with us on this issue. It is completely unacceptable.

Cozy ocean side getaway
This is a very cute, cozy ocean side cabin. It had plenty of space for our group (5 adults). There is only one bathroom which is slightly inconvenient but it is a trade off for the beautiful views. We had a couple of issues regarding the shower and a leak from the roof but the communication was very prompt. Overall a very nice stay!

Maine Camp
This is a typical rustic Maine summer time camp with which I am well familiar. The location is lovely and the house is a typical old camp. Pretty much everything but the coffee maker is fine. The coffee maker appears to have a mismatched caraffe which is nearly impossible to remove and the coffee maker routinely spill a half cup to a cup of coffee on the counter and the floor. Please replace it. The price a Is a little stiff for a coffee maker that does not work and a refridgerator with a broken handle. It took removing the first trash bag to discover there were a couple more underneath. The notice on the refridgerator referred us to two helpful people if questions arose....but no contact number was available. A nice old camp, but just missing it on routine maintenance issues

Authentic Old Coastal Maine Camp
The setting of the house and dock can't be beat, setting sun, nice sunsets. That same light comes into the upstairs bedrooms- 4 nice rooms, 2 facing west, great breezes. The highlights of the house are the upstairs bedrooms, the dock, and large wraparound screened in porch with tables and chairs where you could spend all day. The house downstairs is really just one large room with wood stove and heater. Very Rustic which I like and this has to be what you are looking for. It is an old camp so weathered. There is dust as expected and some spiders but no bugs. A dishwasher would be nice and perhaps an updated shower but there is washer and dryer and plenty of hot water. The area around is quiet and nice to walk on the roads and Audubon Area nearby.

Family fun!
This spacious cabin was perfect for our family of 7. Plenty of space to prepare meals which could be eaten either indoors or at the table on the large screened porch. We enjoyed the fire pit, and the dock and access to the water were wonderful. We rented kayaks, which were delivered to the cabin, and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the river at both low and high tide. Easy drive to Bath and the Maritime Museum and shops; Boothbay and the Botanical Hardens; Brunswick for awesome gelato, and Portland for culinary walking tour. The cottage was the perfect base for our Maine family vacation!

Rustic perfection
We LOVED staying at Rock Haven Bay Bliss. It reminded us of the lakeside cabin in Maine where my family summered long ago, but this has more amenities. Tranquil, waterside setting, many comfortable places to sit and enjoy the view including a glorious wrap-around screen porch, a well-appointed kitchen, beautiful walking at the neighboring Audubon sanctuary, quick access to Route 1... We did not want to leave. This is a perfect spot for a family reunion with four good-sized upstairs bedrooms. A single bathroom and uninsulated walls could be challenging for larger groups who want their privacy, but the cottage suited us perfectly. A true, rustic Maine experience.

Exactly what we needed
The property was exactly as listed and shown in the pictures. The house is very rustic with details and touches that made the place feel like home not to mention the amazing view. We booked this location with the intent of fishing throughout the entire trip and boy did we luck out ! We were originally concerned with there being no air conditioning but it is not needed as the breeze from the bay added perfect comfort. We had a small mishap with the sink but nothing we couldn’t work around! The neighbors were extremely friendly and welcoming as well. Overall our vacation was better then we could have imagined!

Fabulous Location but Missing a Few Key Parts
The location on the dock was absolutely stunning and the selling point for this place. The home is cozy and cute, but some of the basics were missing. For example, paper towels ran out, propane ran out. Additionally, had a few friends for a family gathering and had a few noise complaints—proximity to other residents is VERY close, so even if your not loud, noise definitely carries.

Rock Haven Getaway
We immediately loved the cottage! Plenty of room and just the experience we all were looking for!!! Check in key was not in lock box. My step-son had to go through unlock-able bathroom window. I did get someone on phone and was informed of 2nd lock box key and how to get it. Coffee filters were for different coffee pot. I left ones that fit for next guests. Box fan quit working in one room last night we were there. (you will want to replace) I got electric shock while using the left back burner of the stove. I stopped using metal untensils with that burner after that. Hard to initially find home as no house number anywhere. No intructions on what to do with garbage. Some sort of smaller flipping tool would be nice for stove area as the only one I could find was huge and for the grill and a metal whisk would be awesome. Otherwise kitchen good! We loved all the books as we are all big readers. Loved the setting, cottage, and the outside porch makes the place a 5 star rating! The last morning we were there my son noticed the crab shell was no longer on the dock. No idea what happened there. Grateful there were red chairs on dock! We loved Maine and highly recommend this cottage. Oh......Might be nice to have a welcome letter that would include information about tides. Coming from the Finger Lakes region of NY we had no idea until a local told us. Thanks for a great vacation!!!! SG

True rustic Maine cottage experience
I love this place so much. It is a quintessential, rustic Maine cottage. Open floor plan, exposed wood walls, stone fireplace, shabby (in a good way) furniture. Reminded me of a cottage we used to go to as a child.

vintage cottage with a lot of character, filled with books and games of all kinds, well stocked kitchen, washer and dryer. Comfortable beds, couch and love seat. Plenty of lighting for reading in bed. Quiet. Only down side was the lights along the outside stairway at night were not working... FYI for elders, one bathroom downstairs. Lovely summer getaway
Family of 4 had a great 3-night stay in August. We loved the classic cabin construction and layout. Spent lots of time on the dock watching the birds (osprey, eagles, gulls, etc) and did lots of kayaking from the dock (bring or rent kayaks); this is a great launching spot for paddling around New Meadows river. The water was cool but swimmable (late summer) - we tethered a raft to the dock. A few nice things to do within the area including larger towns (Brunswick, Bath) for more restaurant choices, but we mainly just hung out at the peaceful and moderately private cottage. We'd certainly come back.
