"A total mistake on my part making a booking at this hotel. It's inadequate in every way possible, no proper en suite, awful towels, etc. etc. I do not understand how a family could cope in these so called family rooms. Unfortunately I did not realise it is trying to be a theme type experience, rather than being a 'proper" hotel. We arrived at 5 pm and there was no parking available. The reception, corridor flooring etc. is as scruffy as you can get. I hope this helps to dissuade you from booking...

"This property does not match the publicity photos - they must be at least ten years old! The reception didn’t even have any lights on and there was nowhere to get coffee. The place is shabby, the decor is faded, the bed was a worn out foam mattress on two planks of wood! The bedding was faded and had cigarette burns in it! The walls of the rooms are not soundproofed. I’m a biker and I’ve stayed in rough places but this was disgusting. I would NEVER recommend this place but I recommend Expedia...

Meal was very good, but disappointed that our 90euro per person meal did not have a fish course and a meat course, especially as the lobster half was very small. "The house was a really special place to stay with beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities. "Amazing value for money and location. Really well equipped apartments, spacious balcony and comfy beds. Kitchen didn't have any spare space for storing shopping to make the most of the self catering aspect, but we worked around it. Our apartment overlooked the car park but in fact, it was really quiet, not overlooked by other guests and our balcony had a grear view of the fortress."
