"Great house for a getaway with childhood friends. Roomy home. Beautifully decorated. Everything we needed. Quiet neighborhood. Driveway fits 4 cars. Large backyard. (Raining, so we didn't get to use the firepit). "

"This cottage was perfect for our 35th anniversary getaway. It was in a country setting right along the highway, with easy access.We found it roomy but cozy, clean and comfortable. We would recommend it to anyone, for a pleasant stay. We went to Quincy and Hannibal for restaurants, and enjoyed sightseeing along the river in both towns, strolling about watching the migratory birds in the very nice weather."

"Niece came from Utah, Mom from Colorado, son & family from Coffey, MO and we are from Gentry. We absolutely loved the house and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. We will definitely rent again. "

"We were very impressed by the cleanliness of this home and how thoughtfully prepared the house was for guests. The location was perfect for my needs and the cost quite fair. My business partner was certain everything was brand new and no one had ever stayed at the property since the remodel. "

"The house is very cute and extremely clean and decorated very tastefully. The host left a package of danishes from the local bakery, which was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was so cozy. This however is not a home for someone who has mobility issues. The issues we had were as follows1) bathtub - HIGH step in to the pedestal tub could be a challenge for some - our friend literally fell out of the tub. "My brother and our families (4 adults, 5 teens) stayed at the Hideaway along with our 2 dogs. Great place! Plenty of comfortable beds for all to have their own space. Living room area and the large dining table was great for playing board games. The dogs (and kids) loved running around in the woods and around the lake. Don't let the neighborhood deter you; most of Hannibal has older homes that range dramatically in condition. The inside of this home is tastefully updated. "Our family had the best time staying in the Yellow Rose! We loved the restored character and mansion feel. There's room for everyone, 2 pianos, lots of board games, a Wii, and a projector for movies.
