We were staying in the Family Room, but were not advised when booking that on our second night immediately below that room would be a rock band, performing until 10:30pm. Immediately below the Family Room!?!?!? The floor was literally shaking, which left us with 3 distressed children. A really appalling situation. "I booked in January for a summer weekend, arrived in July to find hotel closed and had to find another hotel. I contacted the hotel through expedia and through their website twice in the week running up to my stay. The Guest House did not respond I arrived to find Hall Bank Guest House locked up and closed. I had to find emergency accomodation for the night. I suggest that potential holidaymakers think very carefully before risking booking Hall Bank Guest House"

"We loved our stay here. After a horrible nine hour journey we were pretty miserable when we arrived. However, when we saw the cottage we were delighted! The pictures absolutely do not do it justice. It’s well maintained, clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy too. We were delighted to see the goats out the front the next morning and raced out to chat to them 😀 The owners are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. If we can face the journey again we will be back and for longer! "
