To find it was so well equipped was an added bonus with everything in keeping with the age of the property. We appreciated the good supply of provisions too. Highly recommended."

"Loved the cottage and the welcome was truly wonderful! We did have problems with Maisie as there is no safe place to let her out as the cottage opens onto the road, also all the area around Rutland water is dogs on leads only so sadly no proper exercise there. We did find a truly wonderful walk around Empingham along the river through plantations of newly planted trees and the most incredible display of wildflowers, excellent!"

"Very close to Rutland water. Loads to do at Rutland. Rural location only accessable by car. The owner kindly let us charge the car at the house (we worked out and paid for the electricity used). I was pleased to find there is a freezer in the kitchen. There were lots of kitchen utensils which made cooking easy."

"Fantastic place, nice and cosy. Beautiful sun trap in the garden. Parking was tricky but the town is small and can park in most places fairly easily."

"Front door is 5 yards from busy A43. Contacted owner for key code Friday am for Friday stay did not reply till 14.21 Sunday. Builders next door Hammering just after 7 Saturday and Monday. Cover on front bed filthy. Toilet seat not attached correctly. No logs provided for log burner or tools. Welcome pack not as advertised no wine no milk no eggs no crisps small loaf. Outside area no parasols cushions left outside dirty and cigarette burn, and a broken chair. Broken glass in cupboard. Very noisy...

"Lovely warm welcome when we arrived and a quick tour around the spacious property. Set in a quiet quaint village with a popular pub/restaurant. The property was warm and comfortable with plenty of room. Nice welcome pack thank you.Lots of information leaflets to choose something to do in the area. Plenty of walks on the doorstep.
