To start Maureen was great, sent information about the cabin and also what to do in the area.
The cabin and stay was great and peaceful. Lost of dog, horses and birds to interact with and watch. Would highly recommend to stay.
This is a great property for a country escape. Very clean and well presented. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need or want. Great size everything works. Beautiful setting. Fantastic interaction with hosts. Internet currently not so good but for many this is a plus. Great DVD selection.
Only 30 min from Echuca in the Barmah National forest with the wild brumbies grazing nearby. A free standing house with one neighbour over the back fence that you'll never notice. But their lovely dogs make for a very friendly welcome! Roaring enclosed wood fire and big couches make for cozy evening with two living spaces. Lots of space in the enclosed garden and the sort of peace and quiet you can only get in the country. Highly recommended and don't forget to bring the marshmallows!
My family had a wonderful break at Moira Gums. It was a great location next to the Barmah National Park. Kerry and Maureen were great hosts, providing us with everything we needed, including on the best places to visit. The welcoming basket was especially appreciated. We’ll be back!!
Hosts genuinely cared about their guests and went above and beyond with wine, and Easter egg, providing canoes, towels to dry the dogs feet, and invitations to join them at their bonfire. A peaceful location with beautiful surrounds. Lots of interesting things to see and we will have to return one day to see them all.
Great spot. Close to Barmah lake and Broken Creek for kayaking. Also enjoyed Picola silo art, Tongala street art and Cape Horn winery lunch. Great house with lots of character. Very relaxing.
We were so lucky to come across Moira Gums for a last minute COVID change of plans getaway. It had everything we needed. Maureen was fantastic to deal with. Comfy beds, comfy couches, fireplace (plus firewood fairy), everything you need in kitchen inc coffee, tea, spices etc, four legged family members thought of to. We will definitely return. Thanks for the hospitality.
Maureen and Kerry thought of everything. Cold bottle of bubbles on the fridge, Easter eggs in the bowl and a personalised message on the chalk board. Beautiful property amazing getaway
Wonderful property in an idyllic location. Maureen and Kerry were fantastic hosts. Highly recommend Moira Gums for a relaxing break in a quiet rural location.
This was a loving place and will diffenently be coming back maureen and Kerry were lovely and very accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay very relaxing. Thank you
The property was great. The yard was secure for the dogs and the house very family friendly for just sitting around and enjoying being away. Maureen and Kerry were awesome hosts - ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay and making us feel very welcome. The nearby broken creek was a refreshing place for the dogs to cool off in the hot weather. The cooling in the house was more than adequate for the 40 degree weather.
This property was exactly what we needed to get away! Close to the lake for swimming and canoeing, huge secure yard for our two dogs, easy walk to the national park - absolutely perfect. Kerry and Maureen were so lovely and accommodating, we're thinking of making this an annual trip!! Thanks so much
We recently spent two nights in this property conveniently located at the entrance to the Barmah National Park. We stayed here with our children and dogs and were very impressed with everything about this beautiful home. The wonderful hosts have thought of everything and it was a nice surprise to have tea, coffee, milk and even a bottle of wine and chocolates in the fridge for our arrival. The house was very clean and the bedrooms were made up to ensure we were very comfortable. There is something for everyone in this hidden gem with the kids being able to feed chickens and collect eggs, pat horses and toast marshmallows on the fire. We were able to sit back and relax as well as venture out and enjoy all that this area has to offer. Thank so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back.
Moira Gums is a welcoming home next door to the Barmah National Park
The house felt very homely with a very well set up kitchen, spacious living and dining area with lots of DVDs, fantastic evaporate cooling system for hot days and a huge fenced yard that our dog loved to explore. Beds were comfortable, nice linen and towels and plenty of tea towels in the kitchen. Nice to find coffee, tea bags, spices and plenty of utensils in the kitchen drawers. Our kids got to build their first fire and toast marshmallows in the outdoor fire pit. A short drive into the neighboring national park at dusk was rewarded with lot of kangaroos and even a small herd of brumbies. This property was above our expectations of a country style home and we would book again. Thank you to Kerry and Maureen for hosting our family.
What a fabulous find! A comfy house within walking distance of the river, lakes and beautiful wildlife. The kids had fun with the friendly dogs and loved getting to know the horses.
The house had everything we needed and we appreciated being able to pick fresh citrus from the trees in the yard.
We'll be back for sure.
