a bit distant from Barca but great value for money
It was my first time visiting Barcelona and my flight would leave the city very early in the morning. For this reason, I chose this hotel as I thought it was closer to the airport that if I had stayed in areas near, for instance, Sagrada Familia or the Gothic Quarter. It turned out that Hotel Esplugues is ar far, or maybe a bit further, from the airport as if I had stayed closer to famous touristic attractions. Still, the hotel is excellent, in a safe area, clean, friendly staff and, most importantly, great value for money! I would have had to pay double or triple the price to stay anywhere near tourist attractions, so at the end of the day, I was happy to stay a bit far away and use public transport to go back and forth to Barcelona. If you are using public transport, know that Hotel Esplugues is outside the city of Barcelona, so the public transport tourist card may not work on some buses that go to or come from there. I would probably stay there again, despite being a bit out of the way.

The lobby and hallways fool you a bit but the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. The area is not bad but 20 min drive away from most of the city's main attractions. Overall pleasant stay
