Catalonia Magdalenes was a lovely property. It was located close to metro so moving about the city was easy. The breakfast was great. The only downside was it was located down an alley and a taxi driver would not drive to the front door to drop us off with our bags. Not the fault of the hotel at all, but he only downside to my stay. The staff at the hotel were all wonderful and so helpful.

The hotel property was perfect for our stay. The breakfast and roof top was fantastic! We were very disappointed in the information we were provided by the front desk on booking a private tour in advance of our arrival. As a result, we missed seeing the Segrada Familia—as tickets were not available.

I think the property was clean and very nice. Some of the night staff seemed to have a little attitude... The shower water was dangerously hot and not controllable....The entrance to the toilet had a ledge that you could easily trip on in the dark...

We had a large clean room with a King bed. The hotel is a nice clean property with a fairly small number of rooms. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was really good each morning. We were exhausted our first night and happy to find a rooftop bar area that also served a light casual meal. The hotel is well located near the Cathedral and the oldest part of the city. So, there is plenty to do/see nearby. It s a block off of a main thoroughfare on a one lane road. So, it feels like an alley, but there was plenty of traffic (foot and car) and feels safe. The location is quiet, but no real views to be had. I suspect very few small boutique hotels have much of a view in Barcelona. It was a good experience as a home base to get a little sight-seeing in before departing for a cruise.

The property is located close to everything. Very walkable and close to the metro. It is on a tiny street in the gothic quarter so it is quiet. The bathroom was a bit awkward as it only had frosted doors and no real privacy.

Loved it! Can’t wait to return.
Highly recommend! From the welcoming and helpful staff to the beautiful and comfortable rooms, to the location we loved it all! Even before our trip, the staff at the hotel was very helpful through the hotels.com app. Laura and Simo met us warmly on arrival and helped us navigate around the area as well as assisted in arranging our transportation to the cruise terminal for the next morning . The rooms were spacious and the beds were vey comfortable. We loved the fact that we could look out on our balcony for a fun perspective on the narrow streets of the Gothic quarter! The rooftop pool while small had a great rooftop view of the area where you can listen to the cathedral bells over a glass of wine. We will certainly return!

Beautiful and spotless property. From front desk to breakfast room, staff was kind and helpful. We had one issue with our air conditioning, this took a few visits to the front desk but was resolved. Breakfast was delicious. Staff went above and beyond to help and helped make Barcelona one of our new favorite places to visit. The pool is small, and is more of a cool off pool than a swim laps kind of pool. The hotel is tucked away in a great location in Barcelona, very walkable to practically everywhere in Barcelona.
